Google "stealth bastard free" (without the quotes) and one of the first links leads to a download.

In case you're not sure about the game, the "non-deluxe" version of it is freeware. http://www.stealthbastard.com/

(scroll to the bottom and there's a download link for it)

Everything with the video player have been broken lately. Buffering issues, audio out of sync etc. Hopefully this will be fixed when the new site launches.

This game is fantastic! The Quick Look doesn't really show off the complexity and ingenuity of some of the levels unfortunately. Definitely give it a go!

The soundtrack is excellent judging from the few bits in the QL. Game seems interesting as well, I'll keep my eye on that.

These aren't just your regular, run-of-the-mill tactical espionage arseholes, they're deluxe!

Also, I believe I mentioned the regular version of this game as an example of a good stealth game, in one of Patricks articles about Mark of the Ninja.

I remember playing the freeware version and wondering why they didn't charge for it, when it seemed a lot better than their other game Explodemon.

I would definitely recommend this game to anyone that enjoys puzzle platformers. The stealth aspect adds a great touch. I played the free version and donated to Curve Studios after completing it because it was that good. I'm glad they were able to get the game on Steam to get some attention and possibly sales. Stealth Bastard is a better game than their previous Explodemon in my opinion.

Patrick says he searched for info on Stealth Bastard and couldn't find anything. I was going to chastise him about lazy research but then I saw that the website had been changed from before. A quick search for "Stealth Bastard" gives the website and a link to download the freeware version of the game is shoved to the bottom of the page. The link to the freeware version was more conspicuous before the Steam version was released. Please still support the paid version.

@staticmigrant: Must be their stealth plan. To make people think they're not whining about it.

Which isn't working all that well either.

Anyway, this game is rad as hell. As with Mark of the Ninja, a fantastic representation of stealth, only this one's a bit more Meat Boy'ish in terms of level design and objectives.

The artstyle of this is very similar to Revenge of the Titans. I'm surprised that this is from a completely different developer. Who ripped off whom, I wonder?

Man, that looks so visually confusing. This is probably one of those games that I would need to be able to mess around with before I could fully understand the visual language being used.

Kind of a bummer it releases a few weeks ahead of the biggest Steam sale of the year; 10% off is less enticing knowing it will probably get at least 25% pretty quickly. Game looks really cool and I'll probably grab it before the end of the year regardless.

I played the hell out of the freeware Stealth Bastard last year. Made a level too, called "WetCat", which you should be able to find with the search in the level browser. :)

It's a mess of alternate passageways.

God, this year and stealth games. Mark of the Ninja, Dishonored, Hitman, even Far Cry 3, and now Stealth Bastard. This seems more stealth puzzle than just killing dudes, which is a good contrast.

Looks rad, might give it a go.

I like Patrick but he got few of the facts wrong. A) You definetly fail the levels included with game, there are many levels where you are forced to restart B) The timer starts the moment the level starts, not when you push first switch

I bought the game straight after ½ quick look. Worth every penny and even has good ranking system for each lvl

Looks really cool. A little bit more my speed than Mark of the Ninja was. More emphasis on obstacles than guards. Guards mean sometimes waiting around a bit for them to go through their movement cycle to get into the right position. I don't have the patience for that waiting anymore.

Totally ignored this when I saw it on Steam as the title and storefront picture seemed like the typical "this is a witty indie spoof game with lots of references to stealth games and that'll poke fun at stealth genre tropes by having you do them while we acknowledge how bad they are!". But this actually seems neat. Not at all what I expected.

Freeware was cool and this looks more fleshed out. However, kinda had my full of this game, kept my attention for a bit. Good QL tho, thanks Patrick Klepek and Ryan Davis.

On a tangent, besides Hotline Miami, Auralux has a great sound track (though it could benifit from more). I'm sure there's many more games, I could name a bunch... Game Music Bundle (4) can as well. Auralux, happens to stick out for me. Bastion also.

@PimblyCharles: That's the kind of attitude that got me into this mess in the first place! "It's only $10, I'll get around to it sometime...". I live and die by Steam sales now, just to pile on the shame that is my library.
