Quick Look: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled

I've had a lot of fun with this game so far. If you watch that video w/ the sound off it looks pretty fun.

I whipped out the original after this video.  The original still awesome

I don't understand why people are bashing this game so much. I think it looks great. Simple surfaces and clean colors. It plays well, very much like the original version. It also has great presentation otherwise - music and UI-elements are good. 
There are games on Live Arcade much more deserving of bashing than this.

and if you think about it its sad they could beat those enimies without seeing the TV

Talking about turtle penis eight and a half minutes in the quick look is gross but hilarious.

This game has a wierd look to it which I can't really explain. It just seems really hard to see what you're doing and I've got to strain my eyes alot to just see what is happening.

Oh man, they really shouldn't have brought up Pussy Town. Now the Bomb Shelter's gonna get flooded with Ninja Turtle porn. :P

I just wish they had put out the old one and it being 5 bucks. I just hope the SNES one comes to VC.

Sad. I guess I remember it being awesome.  Still should be fun enough to play through with 4 people though.

Looks like what I expected for the most part, but Leo's blue headband and stuff is too bright and it should have been cel-shaded.

Turtles in Time brings back a lot of memories...
 
 SNES version was best.

Sadly, as much as I loved playing this game in the arcade, this game just doesn't light the spark again. I understand that it is the same game with new graphics but it is hard to go back to a beat'em up when things like Castle Crashers is around.

this looks like it lacks the 'punch' the original version had with the sound effects and attacks. I'm not quite sure how else to explain it. Either way, brawlers are boring and bland, they don't deserve to be remade.

Wait, it's not the SNES version? Oh lame. No Technodrome? That's losing levels there. But it had the best music . . . aw totally lame.

Played the demo and, to my horror, they changed the amazing music from the original. Why not just include the original game in there? I'd pay ten bucks for that, not this half-baked remake.

Been playing this game since yesterday doing couch co-op with a couple buddies. Its actually been really fun. But maybe its just our Nostalgia for Turtles! 
 
Think the mechanics while simple, are sound so overall.. it works well!

I've just been playing the trial version, and although the gameplay is simple to a fault, another problem is how completely flat and lifeless the graphics and sound effects are. It's okay, but it's really quite bland compared to the original game. Of course, I recommend everyone download the trial version, see for themselves and make their own judgments.

You guys played this on normal with 4 players, and you expect skill-testing gameplay? I know y'all are "playing it as it was intended". But it's also intended to be played by people who WANT to play it to begin with. 
  
I don't really care one way or another as I would only consider buying a game like this for $3-5. But this game was certainly given the shaft in this QL. Good thing it was still funny.

The superior SNES port isn't nearly as easy or simplistic as this. Each level is considerably longer than in the arcade/Arcade versions, and enemies can take a lot more beating before going down. For example, Donatello (which is the character I'm most familiar with in that game) usually has to get in at least five-six consecutive, non-blocked hits before taking down a single enemy. I've only played the Trial version of this remake, but it seems like Ubisoft has dumbed it down considerably.

  Well, I'm not sure why the totally chill video game website would want to randomly take a piss out of turtles in time, but alright. Yuk yuk it sure is dumb!

That was a really funny quick look, with you four just attacking nothing when the screen went off, the end when someone was like 'snake?' , anyways whole vid was funny

Yeah, umm they aren't the only ones who didn't like this game The GameTrailers review made it sound just as bad. The game is an old, tired, average remake. Even with my nostalgia factor, I know this game wouldn't have me going back after a day or two.

Meh game is Meh. Id pay 400pts for it. MAX

I do believe they went into this with a large amount of pessimism, but then so would I if it were me playing that.

The arcade version of Turtles in Time was shit, has always been shit, and will always be shit. The SNES version was where it was at. This remake is based off the arcade version so I'm not surprised that it's not good.
