My first PS2 game was VF4, was never good at it, but I remember I liked to do flip kicks with Sarah.

Kinda excited for this. I think I'll spend my MS points on this instead of on CQ for BF3.

For me VF5 online was always a lesson in anger management. I could compete enough to get to the final round where I would just CHOKE. And then, rage... hard.

It's a whole fucking lot of customizable stuff.

Don't in game downloads need to be done at that screen? Meaning, they don't go to background downloads unless you do it in the marketplace

Yea, most people playing online video games either whoop you and send you a message saying "get good kid" or you whooping them and they calling you racial slurs and wirty dords.

The in game downloads have to be done on that screen. Its a super dumb thing.

Jeff buys item packs and weapon skin packs so you don't have to.

FYI Jeff, if you download content from the in game menus or title screen, you have to keep the download screen up or it cancels the download. That's why it didn't appear in the "active downloads" tab. I you would've done it from the dashboard, you would've seen it there. So, yeah that stuff didn't actually download.

I'm sure they aren't. It's basically you buy one, which is 2gigs, then whenever you buy the others you're just buying the keys. It's been like that in many other games.

I believe this is free for PlayStation plus members.

i wish ranked matches in other FGs made you pick your character before you look for a match. tired of all the damn counter picking from people who care way too much about online wins.

I haven't played a Virtua Fighter game since VF2.

Negative, they are definitely two gigs each. I downloaded both of them on Tuesday. You can even download them each of the character-specific packs individually and see that they're all around 150-200 megs.

Looks decent for VF, hope that Jeff does a short part2 video of the customization as he hinted at it so much in the video yet never got to checking it out.

I originally bought this just to support downloadable fighting games, because I think it's a great idea, especially with a fair pricing structure (pay more for cool outfits (even if they are a little overpriced here), less for the core game, etc.), but now I'm playing the hell out of it. Virtua Fighter is still fun, you guys!

So is this an update like SF Arcade Edition was to Super SF4 or can you just buy Vf5 Final Showdown

Awesome game. PSN+ users can get the base game for free.

I love VF5, but I miss quest mode. It gave more variation without having to go online, and you got to beat up Chris Kohler.

Love that Jeff plays with Sarah, I've been wanting to give her a try and seeing him kick ass with her is inspiring.

I've been enjoying online matches so far despite being pretty awful at the game. Feels surprisingly friendly to people new to the series.

Yeah, it's not add-on DLC, you can just buy Final Showdown without owning VF5. Good thing too, because I have no idea where my copy of VF5 is.

Also good to see they also worked on just animations for the characters. And watching him play Sarah you can tell right off the bat. Anyone remember her basic fighting stance animation was just a bad loop. Looks better now too.

Why do almost all Japanese games seem to have that same hideous old-looking font? I feel like I've seen it in tons of Japanese games, it always looks bad and it has been that way for years and years.

Huh, the talk of VF's surprisingly well-mannered community actually has piqued my interest in this game. Maybe I should sign back up for PS+ and check it out.

I'm really tempted to pick this up. I haven't played a VF game since the very first one in arcades and on Saturn.

Yep, just got it. I feel better about this purchase than spending the points on the BF3 DLC. At least here I'm getting a full game and not just a map pack with new weapons that are exactly like the old weapons.

@sirdesmond: I think Japanese people, speaking japanese and not english, have no idea what makes a good font. Also, Japanese graphic design, in general, is wayyy strange compared to american graphic design. So, there may be a lot f htat involved as well.

Virtua Fighter is still awesome. I've always enjoyed the sound effects since part 1.

Also: Jeff is pretty good w/ Sarah.

Bought it and I'm once again really enjoying VF.

Also I just love how Jeff always buys all this fantastic micro-trans stuff.

Wait a second! At 11:10 in this video, Jeff hits QuickPlay off his home menu, and almost immediately gets a list. Is this a video edit or something? It doesn't seem like it, but damn, I haven't had the QuickPlay list on my 360 come up in under 30 seconds in, like, forever.
