Drew went and played some Halo 5 campaign just for the... Halo of it.

After 4, I've got no interest in Halo. The enemy AI was just abysmal. You could take down an elite's overshield from a distance and it would do nothing but jump once to the left.

Stopped playing after 4 missions.

Halo fanfic, no thanks.

Maybe it sounds childish, but I can't even express how excited I am right now to see the other Spartan-II's finally showing up. Hopefully this game will be the exact opposite of a giant middle finger to the books (a la Halo: Reach).

Looking at this I feel like this should be a new Sci-Fi shooter title rather than a Halo game. Trying to shove new bits into a complete story does not serve it well. Furthermore I feel the actual gameplay and design issue seem like issues of a new team rather than a grizzled team not having fresh ideas. I think Halo 6 will be stronger gameplay wise, but even weaker Halo nostalgia and story wise. To reiterate, I think it should be a new IP.

Wait so these Spartans were the ones that got separated from everyone else after that Fall of Reach book and that other book that takes place after The Flood book?

This is pretty interesting but I'm sure most people will be lost because they wouldn't know who they were if didn't read the book...and honestly I already forgot what happened in those books

I'm with Jeff. I'm done with The Covenant, but the Prometheans were boring to fight.

Also, the level layouts looks very similar to Halo 4. Very over designed and symmetrical.

Here's hoping they at least got rid of the QTEs.

@hollitz: This really bothered me. Almost like the AI for the enemies is being negatively impacted by having to have 4 teammate AI's running as well. Game looks nice but Drew said he was playing on Heroic and literally nothing was taking cover/moving very much.

When playing single player I don't like having 3 others following me the whole time and feel like I'm in a multiplayer session. It looks really good but I didn't like most of Halo 4's enemies and setting.

This game looks great. I'm getting really excited.

But boy I hope Jeff is wrong. Master Chief has real friends now! He doesn't need imaginary blue computer ladies in his head for him to talk to anymore.

They punched out of all that business at exactly the right time. Maybe even a little after. Just... let it be.

A.I. coop partners? Boo. I hate that stuff. Apparently every game ever has to have it now too.

I quit video games. Burn it all down.

I'm into this just because Tim Longo did Star Wars Republic Commando and I've been wanting Halo to have other Spartans in the mix since I read one of the books.

Between multiplayer looking and feeling like a bad COD mod, and forced ai buddies I don't think I'm even going to gamefly this let alone buy it. What a damn bummer

Exactly, this "Cortana" was all inside his head.

The Cortana subplot could only end the way it did when they went beyond having her as simply a narrator giving you objectives.

It's funny that it didnt go 'full Bungie' with AI rampancy and all until 343 took over though. That's a plot taken right out of Marathon.

Well, Halo has always had AI companions and Halo 3 and Halo Reach had AI that were with you most of the game.

To be honest, not sure I'm that interested without splitscreen co-op.

@corvak: To be fair, Marathon and Halo are technically the same universe, so AIs going rampant is clearly a shared constant.

At first I was excited until I saw in review that they are mostly one-note characters with hollow personalities.
