my first RTS is a great experience

i have never played a RTS before..i dont know why..they just never seemed to interest me..but i decided to try one out..so i  picked up Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution

and i must say..i really really need to play more RTS's..its a great great game..everything moves easily, some little control issues when trying to pick where to go, but thats mainly it..the menus are very easy to follow and they tell you very clearly what each one of them do

your goal in this game is to start a civilzation and make it a Empire..you get to choose from the Americans, Russians, Zulu(thats who i played as), Arabs, Chinese, Japanese, British, Spanish, and a couple of other civilzations, now every civilzation comes with a leader, usually its someone in that cultures history that is important..like for the Americans, you get Lincoln, Romans get Caesar etc..it is key that you become the first nation to learn important skills..if you become the first civilization to create gunpowder, you can basicly beat anyone without guns..but if you start to fight nations, others will try to fight you, so you can fight that nation, or give them a technology they dont have and they will leave you alone for a while..

this game has a ton of charm..when you are just kicking another nations ass, they suck up to you and ask for peace, its kinda funny..the colors make this game look amazing, but if you get to much stuff cramed into a area, things begin to look alittle blurry, but thats just minor..but a thing that takes away from the charm is the annoying voices..but you can easily turn that off..

for the controls..you use the Right Stick and Left Stick to move units and select units..when you get enough of the same units around one another, they will form a army, which will increase their defences and attack..to move through different units in a town or army, you just simply use the D-Pad..but sometimes its messes up and goes to a different one then what you selected..and sometimes when doing this, the framerate drops, i dont know why, but it only does that a little, not often

this game has so much going for it, very simply controls, great presentation..and the most important part is that it is fun, that was what had me worried, since this was my first RTS i didnt know if it would be fun or not..and yes it is, very

i will play this game for hours straight and not get bored at all..this is the first time that has happened since Fallout 3

A Console Strategy Game That Works! 0

Staring at the clock, you consider starting another match. “Hey, I’ll just set things up for when I play tomorrow!” you say. Three hours later, you’ve finished another Civilization Revolution match, and you’re left wondering where the time went. Sounds like a Civilization game, doesn’t it? If you’re a veteran of the series, that’s music to your ears. That’s always the concern with PC strategy games making the jump to consoles — does it feel like the PC game? Too many times gamers have been doubl...

This is the case with Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution. Not because it is bad in any way, but simply because I am not that good at it. What makes me confident enough to review the game despite my weakness at playing it is easy to describe. Despite the fact that I have yet to win a mat...
