Does anyone know if it's coming to PSN next week aswell? If not I'll get the Xbox version, but I'd rather get the PS3 version.
Sick. I already have this game reserved so it's only a matter of time until I can play it :D
As for the intro movie, I was a little disappointed, the intro to the first game was much better but this one isn't bad. I'm stoked that they'll have Ray Barbee in this one but I'm still bummed Skate 2 doesn't have Mark Gonzales.
I only played the demo of the first one. I haven't played a full skating game for years, but I've heard good things about Skate, so I might check it out.
I played the demo of skate like a billion times. The demo is pretty much all you needed. I rented the game once and beat it quickly. All it offers is new environments and more challenges... oh and limited online, for those that like that kinda stuff. I stopped because when I beat the game, my gamescore for it went to 420 and my OCD couldn't let that number be overwritten.
That being said, I will buy Skate2 when it comes out unless the demo somehow messes that up for me (extremely unlikely).
Cool. This is one demo I'll definitely be downloading. I'm excited to see how much the game has improved.
I wish they had like, an easy, arcade mode. I love a good skating game, but the controls while neat, were annoying as hell. Game was pretty much unplayable for me. Maybe I'll have to download it and just practice like crazy haha.
"Skate 2 looks cool. And that Lord of the Rings: Conquest has me intrigued. If it is the spiritual successor to Battlefront, good times should commence."
Its actually fun except you get knocked down as melee classes every ten seconds (you get stuck on the ground because you have too many guys, or when you fight Souron he pretty much owns you) if you don't move around and stuff alot, and its not for people who want a LotRs experience AT ALL. While its pretty accurate on the look of things, thats where it ends. The gameplay is a bit too extreme and out there. But that makes it fun, so what the hell. I'm still hoping to god BF 3 is still on the way, I loved the Battlefronts games.
Fuckin' rights I really enjoyed skate even with it's minor quirks, when I get back home I'm buying skate 2 and Conquest.
Real skaters and people who at least used to skate a lot (like me) really love skate. compared to the Tony Hawk series. I remember first playing the demo, thinking "this is exactly how a skating game should feel," they really nailed it. But I also remembered thinking that anyone who doesn't skate wouldn't like the controls, but apparently a lot of non-skaters really took to it as well. It just feels natural, and the motions for the tricks (although some are complicated) really make sense. The realism factor is awesome too...it's not hard enough to be a "simulation" and not easy enough to make it overly "arcadey" like Tony Hawk. It reminded me of that Thrasher Skate and Destroy game for PSX, while it was much less popular I thought it was more challenging and satisfying than Tony Hawk.
