I among many others loved this game. The only thing not so great with this game was the fact that it was so short. Other than that, it had great graphics, AI, squad commands, etc. So who thinks there should've been a sequel to this game?
Star Wars: Republic Commando
Game » consists of 9 releases. Released Feb 28, 2005
Take control of an elite squad of Clone Troopers and complete the tactical, behind-the-scenes dirty work of the Republic in their fight against the Separatist forces.
Who wants a sequel?
A sequel to this game would be awesome, but sadly I don't think it sold enough copies for Lucas Arts to feel compelled to make another. With the recent layoffs there, and with several other, more high-profile, Star Wars games currently in development, I doubt any executive at Lucas Arts would find it appropriate to pull people away from other projects to work on a game that (let's be fair) will probably not sell well.
It's a shame that the first game didn't garner more public attention, because it really was a well-designed and fun experience that is worthy of a sequel, but I just don't think it's in the cards.
Sure! Why not?
Just make it longer, and make sure that the gameplay mechanics have been updated because Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare raised the bar, and a sequel would have to uphold those expectations that we now have for First-person shooters.
They would be silly not too,
what with next-gen star wars technology and the fact that there was a massive cliffhanger at the end
long live sev!
"Burns09 said:Really because I checked some lists but I can't find it. But then again all the lists are missing games that the others have."I missed this game when it first came out, is it backwards compatible?"Yeah, I was able to rent it and play it on my 360."
Guess what I learned on GiantBomb today? In the Force Unleashed demo, there is apparently an easter egg of Boss's helmet from Republic Commando. There's a picture on the force Unleashed page as well as a description of how to get to it. Gtta love Giantbomb; I never would have known that otherwise.
Anyways, I would love a sequel to Republic Commando, but it probably won't happen. They've got those novels that deal with the squad after the first game right? One of them is called Order 66, so presumably the squad goes on without Sev :( And I don't imagine they would do a prequel.
I'm actually, as a matter of fact, on my first playthrough of this. Pretty early on, in the Core ship that's about to blow and this game, even now, is pretty damn amazing. Like, I expected myself, not having any history with this game to go in and be like "Fuck this. Its shit"
Oh hell no! Its amazing.
I've read all the books in the series and having played a bit of this game, I really want this to get a sequel.
Starting along Order 66 to either working for the Empire or going Renegade.\
Oh and if anyone's interested: Rebel FM did a 3 Episode Game Club series for Republic Commando, with each one covering one campaign and the last one with one of the Devs. Really interesting.

" this was a game that i can play over and over, memorizing everything, so i would love to see a sequal and save sev (whether he's dead or getting raped by droids) lol "Isn't Sev in like all the books past "Hard Contact"? Not sure how the books are paced in relation to the game but Sev is with Delta everytime Delta is mentioned in the books.

but i do know all about the game and its storyline
I could live with out one, but if they made another I'll probably rent it like last one. Just to see what happened to his squad.
I'd love to see a next gen version of this, simply because I'm a huge Star Wars fan who didn't own an Xbox at the time it came out and never played it.
It looked pretty damn good, too.
" This game did catch my eye when it came out, but I didn't have an XBOX at the time. How good was this game? "Im a star wars fan and i thought it was great, i enjoyed the storyline and combat from a more serious point of view
if your not a star wars fan, you probably would have thought of it as a worthy rental because there are some things that always bothered, but also some that are great ( ex: stabbing an alien or droid and having the blood or battery acid splatter on your visor)
i thought it was a solid game, probably average to most people though

Yes, I would love a sequel to this game. I know the Star Wars: Imperial Commando, which was supposed to be the sequel was cancelled in 2004, but I'd still love one to be brought up again. I remember when this game came out, this was one of my favorite games, so much so that I even made it the center of one of my high school projects to present. I know, weird. Now? I'm not a huge Star Wars fan. I think there's stuff here and there that I still like in Star Wars, but my interests have mainly moved on, but this is something I could still get behind. Also, I'm bringing up an old topic, so sorry.

I think I have a pretty good idea. Make a game about Rebel commandos. Make them similar to Green Berets in which they have to infiltrate a planet, recruit indigenous beings, and carry out a Guerilla war against the Empire.
