Super Smash Bros. Melee

Super Smash Bros Melee, many consider it as the best game on Gamecube and many gamers continue to play that game a lot even today after nearly 6 years of it’s release. This game is the biggest selling game on the Gamecube. In this game, you’ll find many of Nintendo’s biggest stars like Link, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Pikachu, Mario and many more….. I’m sure many of you remember the original Super Smash Bros on the Nintendo 64, lot’s of good memories right ? Well let’s see how this game does on the Gamecube.

The gameplay in that game is intense. You’ve got dozens of combos for each characters and many signature moves like Mario’s fireball attack and Link’s spin attack. There are many characters to choose from and many more to unlock as you play. This is the ultimate game to play on multiplayer with a few of your friends or relatives. You’ve also got a new mode, which is called ‘‘Adventure Mode’’. Adventure Mode is terrific; you get to play with any of the playable characters in a side scrolling adventure game with many levels. It has the same gameplay that you’ll find in the regular match mode but as a side scrolling game.

There is also the stadium mode in which you can practice your skills with a home-run contest (you have to hit a sandbag as far as you can), in target test (the regular ‘‘Hit The Target’’ game in which each characters has it’s own level) and in multi-man melee (a mode in which you got to beat up as many weak enemies as you can).

Let’s no forget one of my personal favorite; Event Match. Event match is a mode where you have to accomplish certain tasks in order to get to the next level. Like for example you’ve got a time-limit to beat a certain character or you can just beat this guy in this certain form …… there are many events; some are really cool, some are easy and some are quite funny.

The graphics in that game are really good. Some of the character’s models could have looked better but in overall that game looks fantastic. Framerate issues can occur sometimes but let me assure you it’s very rare. The environments are also well detailed.

Some of the characters have even had their whole look completely remade but some of them are still keeping their original classic look.

Now for the sound. The music in that game is absolutely fantastic, some of the music in that game will remind of many Nintendo classic games like F-Zero, Super Mario Bros, The Legend Of Zelda, Kirby and many more …….

Some of the characters even have voice acting. Though it’s not complete voice acting like in many games these days, it’s still pretty good. The voice acting in that game consists only of a few sounds but now every characters has it’s own voice and that is pretty nice.

This game is going to get you occupied for many days, months or even years ……. You’ve got to complete all event matches and unlock all characters (which takes a whole lot of time). Plus as I said earlier, many gamers are still playing that game a lot even if it was released for more then 6 years. This game will surely keep you occupied for a long time. You can already guess that the replay value is perfect.

I consider this game as one of the best games to ever embrace the Gamecube. Sure that purple box didn’t meet sales success but it had solid titles like this one. This game will pass your time while you’ll be waiting for the upcoming Super Smash Bros Brawl.

The Good: terrific gameplay, great graphics, fantastic sound, excellent replay value, many characters to choose from and many gameplay modes.

The Bad: Well …… framerate issues but they’re very rare …… that’s all what I can come up with.

Is it worth to be bought ? : HELL YEAH !!!
