I'm not interested in the game, but I figures this might interest some people here.
Well, if they say that removing Wii MotionPlus support has not detrimental effect on the game... I hope they're right. That game had better ship with functioning controls!
They're saying the opposite, that M+ didn't add anything to it whatsoever as it wasn't built with that in mind in the first place. Anyway, they announced this a while ago but it didn't get much attention because it's really not that important. I'm not excited for the WiiSpeak support as I don't have it. I'd probably mute it anyway, I don't even use voice chat much on PC unless it's an absolute must for the game or I game with real friends.

The Wii should have shipped with MotionPlus to begin with.
I bet they dropped it because Nintendo hasn't set a release date for Motion Plus and the Conduit will come out before the launch. I just read an article that Tiger Woods 10 for the Wii is shipping with the ability to be compatible with M+ and when it arrives plug it in and play, but it will work without it as well.

I played it, buddy.
Um, so did I, "buddy"? The only issue the base controls had was the turning speed (which is still faster than the average console FPS and didn't detract from the experience) which, once again, doesn't require M+ to be fixed. Only a few more sensitivity options, which The Conduit has.
M+ adds precision in motion detection, it has nothing to do with the aiming functions which use the infared pointing. Have you not used a Wii at all, not even in its menu? The cursor moves just fine there, doesn't it? It's the same with aiming in a FPS. M+ wouldn't improve that.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....
If the pointing on your Wii is f'ed up, play with the "sensitivity" option in the Wii Settings, make sure the sensor bar is unobstructed, and make sure the sensor bar is centered on your TV. The sensitivity option effects how sensitive your Wiimote is to light sources, so setting it higher makes the Wiimote more effective at pointing at farther distances, but it can become screwy with other light sources, such as lamps, present.
Wow. I sure didn't think you'd criticise even that BiggerBomb. I'm thinking AnimZero is right to assume something's fucked up with your setup, maybe that's why you had problems with Prime 3 too. If pointing had any sort of meaningful problems like your quoting, laughing, fanboy talk and general flame baits imply without ever explaining what you actually mean, this thing would not be possible. Really, try to follow with your mouse.
... this thing would not be possible. At first I was like "Pftt"...

The Wii just doesn't handle FPS's too well."Techniques developers use to employ shooting and movement in a 3D environment on the Wii needs overhauling. But as biased, a non-Wii owner and experienced with FPSs only on the PC I cannot really speak about this, although I tend to agree with you.
I get the impression that the Wiimote's accuracy is not the issue. M+ seems alright for throwing frisbees or sword fighting, but for an accurate reticule when shooting, it seems unnecessary.
I have no idea what BiggerBomb is smoking, Prime 3 worked really well. I would know since I did focus-testing with about 5 others to ensure that game shipped with solid controls. Maybe you just never got it.
Agree, but you should have made them add more sensitivity options :(
