For me personally, I think Nikolaj Coster-Waldau would make a pretty decent Geralt, and he isn't necessarily too high profile for the role. It would be a good fit.

Maybe Eva Green for Yennefer.

@hayt: He looks very similar to Geralt but I don't see why else he'd be good for the role, especially considering his odd accent. He's also a rather older gentlemen than Geralt is.

The Polish guy from the Polish series was perfect.

I'd have to agree with that other topic's suggestion of Mad Mikkelsen. It's hard not to see this and not feel like it's obvious:

Though the TV show wasn't the greatest (in fact, some think it's quite bad), I do hope that the film have some of that Slavic European 'charm', if only because of the amount of Polish names involved. I do remember watching it as a kid and having no idea what's going on though. Skip to 1:15 for just some amazing effects and creepy smiling Geralt.

Well, can't be worse than the old film (or series for that matter), so I'm kinda on board, even though I never cared for an of the Mummy movies.

As for casting I have to agree with people suggesting Mad Mikkelsen for Geralt and if they go with an older Ciri I could see Emma Stone play the part.

Is this animation or live action? Either way, turning around a full length film in less than a year seems like a bad idea.

It was announced last year (this thread was necroed), but we haven`t heard anything since (that I could find). So I will take a wild guess and say that it`s either delayed or dead (as 95% of video game movies end up).

I've always thought Matt Czuchry would be a great Geralt.

Geralt needs the voice. Just get Doug Cockle, even if it is live action. Smear a bunch of CGs all over him and make him look like a witcher.

@betterley: Terrible actor. Cringe everytime I see that guy. Also, Geralt needs to be played by someone much, much older.

Geralt is visibly in his late 40s, or very fit mid-50s, while factually being 90-something. Mads Mikkelsen would be a great fit. That Matt Czuchry guy is far too young.

For me the best cast for a witcher film would be:

Marion Cotillard as Ciri

Kate Beckinsale as Yennifer
