I'll still be getting it on PC.

Torchlight Heading To Consoles Soonish, Probably
Anyone else think the dog/cat was the most useless thing they could have put in the game? Using their spells was too cumbersome and time-consuming, and I could just get a bigger backpack if I need some more space for my junk. How about a harry-potter owl that carries my backpack to the town shop for me? I like that more.
I've already played over 20 hours of Torchlight, but I might get it again for points. I only payed $5 for it on Steam.
" Already got it on PC, but I imagine this will actually work pretty well on consoles. Good to hear it'll reach a wider audience, the game is fantastic. "Glad my xbox live friends will get a chance to play it.
" @MattBodega: Cats are superior to dogs. This is 100% correct.
SUCK IT "
Thankfully you can have a cat in Torchlight.

" @FunExplosions: I thought it was really useful. It was an extra backpack and it could run to town and sell your junk without you having to stop playing and warp to town. "@FunExplosions said:

Всё о туризме. Туризм. Отдых.
Who gives a fuck about a dog or a cat or whatever pet you get. That's just something to help me sell my loot. Anyways, I'm all glad that consoles will get to experience a decent Diablo clone, but I think I'll stick with my PC version. Do you know why I will do that? Because it works on the PC. Because it feels good. Besides Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, all the other Diablo clones didn't sell at all because they suck. Champions of Norrath, Untold Legends, Darkstone, even Diablo on the PS1. They sold crap.
I like cats for than dogs, well actually I like dogs more than cats but I'm too lazy to own a dog so in the end I like cats more than dogs.
Either way, the cat model in Torchlight sucks imo so yes dogs are superior.
I can see this game working on consoles but I already have the steam version. Will definitely get this if the 360 version is using the Steam Cloud feature, meaning I can play the same char on both the PC and the 360. That won't happen but one can dream.
I've never touched Torchlight, but my dad has been playing it fairly regularly. I doubt a console release would interest him, though, he's pretty much invested in his PC as his primary gaming console. Me, I'm holding back on the hack and slash.
Oh, and cats rule!
I love how they keep using those sales numbers to say very different things.
"The game is a hit! We sold 750000 copies!" and "We only sold 750000 copies, and that is because of piracy".
And this game could probably do very well on console, the isometric/top down hack and slash genre plays much better on consoles in my opinion, when you have direct control of the character instead of pointing and clicking where to go.
Day one buy for me. I've been interested in this game and have wanted it for a while now but my laptop probably can't handle it as well as my 360 could.
" Speaking of Champions of Norrath, why hasn't a game like that come out for the current-gen consoles yet? And are there any on the way? "It's called Sacred 2.
Now, the question is that since it will only be released as a digital product on console if they will include the Ferret pet as well. For those who don't know, the Ferret was exclusive to the retail box copy of the PC version, though you could mod him into the digital version.
I hope they put him in, he's easily the bet of the 3 pets in the game. He's got goggles.
" I don't get it. I'm pretty sure Torchlight could run on ANY computer made within the last 5 years. It's not a demanding game, and it controls better with a M&K than I imagine it would on a gamepad. I'd rather them spend their time making Torchlight II than porting the original. "Runic didn't do the Mac port in-house. I doubt they're doing the 360 port either.
ARPG:s on consoles usually aren't point and click, but use direct control, like the baldur's gate: dark alliance and champions of norrath games on xbox/ps2, which I assume they will also use in Torchlight.
Point and click doesn't make sense in a console ARPG, are barely even makes sense on PC, at least in Diablo style games where you only control a single character anyway, in party RPG's point and click makes some sense, in single character RPG's it only makes you less connected to the character you control.
I have Torchlight for the Pc and it's a great little game but it's better with all the mods that are avaialble for it which do all sorts of great stuff like improving the textures lightining etc, mods for the pets to make your cat a tiger etc , different looks for your character and their armour and numerous game tweaks something the console versions will miss out on.
