Star Trek - The Video Game is such a generic title, come up with something that doesn't sound like crap

The game is just called "Star Trek". The subtitle added in this video is there to make clear what it is advertising.

Which seems odd. If they thought it could be potentially confusing... What with a major motion picture coming out fairly soon with a very similar name, you thought they might want to distinguish the product with a proper subtitle. Of course, this implies that Paramount and Namco Bandai care about this product. My money is on they don't.

OK... even though the game is guaranteed to be middle of the road at best that Ad may have sold me on it.

Does this mean that William Shatner wont be appearing in the new movie either and has been stuck with doing ads? This was probably better than any cameo he would have done in the movie so it's probably for the best.

Everything was great except for the actual game footage. That game looks terrible.

Those graphics look like they are from 2003.

They should just put Shatner in a mo-cap suit, mic him up, and let 'im rip for 8-10 hours.

Game done.

Does that mean that Shatner will have a cameo in the new movie? Or he didn't have any Priceline ads to film and did this instead? He looks good for a guy who is in his eighties.

If that's not the original actor for rubber lizard, this ad is broken.

They can't fit him into the story the way they did with Nimoy and Shatner didn't want to make a voice cameo.

This game looks substantially worse than it did when they first started showing it. The advertisement is solid gold!

So, at what point in the Star Trek Universe did the mission of the Enterprise stop being " to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before." and change to "Go where ever we want, and kill anything that looks different."

I hope its addressed in an audio log.

Certainly beats the other two incarnations of Shatner, which are best represented in the form of Calculon and Zapp Brannigan.

So are those lizard things in the game itself supposed to be new-fangled Gorn, or just random aliens to blast?

Around season 3 of TNG, I think, but some would probably say around The Wrath of Kahn.

Another case of great ad but not so game? The charmed life of Bill Shatner. But what of the Gorn, what of his storied career... where was its Rescue 911 or did it play a law enforcement officer in its historical documents?

That was funny as hell. Just like that old episode of Star Trek ( I'll try to embed that video later). However, those game character's looked nothing like William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. Did they not get the rights their likeness?
