It's not Fallout 3, it's not Borderlands. 
 
It's a Post Apocalyptic game. Post Apocalyptic fiction is a sub genre.
 
Is Battlefield 3 more Call of Duty because they are both in the Military genre?
 
Broaden those horizons people.

I hope there are a lot of those body's running around without heads kills. Those look fun to pull off.

The blood-effects on headshots look really off in this trailer.

OH BTW, Borderlands is not a post-apocalyptic game.

@Spoonman671: Had this thought myself, then figured that most resistance fighters probably refer to their antagonists as "the government" anyway.

You say post-apocalyptic as if it were a bad thing. 
 
It's a selling point, IMO.  How many truly successful games in that genre has there been anyway? Not enough if you ask me.
 
BTW, Borderlands isn't post-apoc, but it is a wasteland game, which is close enough as makes no difference. 

This looks fun, why all the nitpicky comments? Gamers are a sad lot sometimes, so ready to form opinions without actually playing a game.

BTW, are they going to leave anything about this game up to the imagination? I've never seen so many trailers, gameplay vids, interviews, etc. And now SpoilerCon.  
 
Someone not wanting to be spoiled by all this media buzz is going to have to work pretty hard to avoid it all. It's tough to remain blissfully ignorant about this thing.

Can't wait for this to come out, tired of waiting on it to be done as there's something about the way they craft the games at id software that I always love & can enjoy going back to.

...but nobody cries foul over zombies, and space marines, and Navy SEALs, and....  I can count 3 wasteland games worth playing in the last 5 years, and 2 of those are Fallout.  Everything else is just a Halo/Gears clone.

Trailer looks slick, Graphics look awesome but Im not ready for another wasteland shooter right now. After all the wasteland shooters Ive played in the last 2 years im still struggling to see how this will be different enough from those games to make it worth a Day 1 purchase.

I look forward to the reviews :)

Looks pimp, definitely going to check this one out. I hope there's a demo before its released.

Looks supercool. I haven't read a preview of this game in quite some time and didn't at all expect the high-tech aspect of "the Authority".

Looks amazingly good. Very excited. My Pip-Boy, robot dog, and loot from General Knox are all ready.

Christ steve blum...I was already getting a bulletstorm vibe but now this.

Not really into FPS, but this looks surprisingly intriguing.
