"Tenkaichi 2 is better than Tenkaichi 3. Online can be thrown out the window because it's horrible and in BT2 you don't have timing puzzles for attacks. You just go. Also, Wii Fit is a sport? Really? Everything else looks good.Nah, BT3 has more responsive controls, more fighters, modes and a better story mode ;)

The Nintendo Wii is a home video game console released on November 19, 2006. The Wii's main selling point was the innovative use of motion controls that its signature Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers allowed for. It became the best selling home console of its respective generation of hardware.
-Wii Recommendation Thread-
"Anyone here played the new Alone in the Dark, right now i'm trying to choose between these:
Alone in the dark
Wii fit
Geometry Wars
Guilty Guear XX
Manhunt 2"
I would go for Geometry Wars it has a good price and I think it is better than all other games you mentioned.
"KingBroly said:what!? Are you kidding me? It was so...linear. In BT2 you had an open map system where you could have mini fights to earn more money for more items before storyline fights. In BT3, it was bam, bam, bam, done. And for Tournament Mode, you couldn't really play it because the difficulty was 100% random. Tell me why I can't choose what difficulty I fought at? As far as responsive controls go, ok, if you consider timing puzzles for moves which you have to correctly mimic what is shown on screen, then yeah, I guess it's more responsive that BT2."Tenkaichi 2 is better than Tenkaichi 3. I think Wii Fit should fall under the mini-game category. That's all it is. Do this for 2 minutes, that for 3 minutes, etc. Not much else to do. Yoga isn't a sport. Dance Steps isn't a sport. Hula Hoops catching isn't a sport. I don't know what the heck that bubble thing is, but I know that isn't a sport. The only sport related thing in Wii Fit is the boxing training and maybe the jogging.

Those activities are closer to sports than anything else ;)
I'm getting a(nother) Wii Points Card. I'm getting Ocarina of Time for sure.
With 1000 points remaining, what are some good choices that are good recommendations?
*Note that I like longer games with lots of replay value. But I'll take anything that's good.
Keep in mind, I have these already:
- Actraiser
- Paper Mario
- Starfox 64
- FFCC: My Life as a King
- Strong Bad Ep. 1
- Ninja Gaiden 1
- Legend of Zelda
- Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Gunstar Heroes
- Harvest Moon
- Super Metroid
- Sonic 3
Thanks in advance =).
Thanks RowdyRob, but I don't think I'm going to be getting it.
I've decided to just wait for Mega Man 9...in September =P. There's really nothing I'm interested in on the VC or on Wiiware right now. I'll wait.
Thanks again anyway.
You guys should try Star Parodius. 900 points, probably the best ( in my opinion ) Turbo Grafx game available.
3 different character ships, different power ups, lots of bosses, fun levels, kickin CD sound track, and Japanese whackyness.
Its an easy game for Weenie Babies or you can switch up the difficulty for Mega Pro Joes. And if you think you're super hot stuff, there's an added secret super difficulty.
There's also a 2 and 5 minute challenge mode were you work to rack up as many points as possible before time runs out.
Really fantastic shmup.
I think that is exactly one of the reasons why Capcom decided to make the new Megaman game like that. They are trying to recapture the magic and addicting gameplay that the series had when it was first released.
"Gonna update the OP a tad for y'all. That and an older release, Paper Mario from the N64. Both great VC releases.
Also, Super Mario RPG just landed on the American VC and is already available in Europe, so if you want to spend some Wii Points, that's a good place to start ;)"
You should recommend Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and Shining Force (I don't remember if Shining Force II is on there or not) for the VC picks.
Edit: For some reason I can't place a the link on the word "stars" up there. :\
Ok i need some help, i already have enoguh money for three games in november, two of them are going to be Tomb Raider and Tales of Symphonia 2. I need help choosing the third:
De Blob
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Wario Land Shake it!
Mario Galaxy (beat it but i don't own it yet)
Harvest Moon ( i really want an addictive game and based on the previous ones this could be good)
Thanks in advance
That is a tough list to choose from Black_Rose.
Brawl is awesome and despite the fact that I have't played De Blob and Wario Land yet I assume they are great.
But I would vote for Brawl since you have already beat the best one of the list which is Mario Galaxy.
de Blob is really good, but I have a hard time recommending it over Smash Brothers Brawl. If you have a lot of friends to play with, get Smash Brothers Brawl. If you're looking for a primarily single player game, get de Blob.
+ Pleasant new content and nice puzzles
+ excellent sound design
+ gameplay and story are as brilliant as ever
+ controls work very well
+ It's a friggin quality Poin't n Click graphics Adventure
- Noticable difference between new and old voice samples
- DC character animations look pretty bad
- The game doesn't run fullscreen. Black bars not only at the sides, but on top and bottom as well. That's pretty messed up.
New Play Control! Mario Power Tennis
+ New controls work very nice and smooth, are configurable, and it plys well with and without Nunchuck
+ Graphics/Sound A+
+ Just simple, plain fun and entertainment. Just great.
+ Lots of courts, modes and options...
- ...that have to be unlocked in tournament mode..
- ...which has NO multiplayer support
- You cannot play 2-player Co-op! If you're two people, you have to play against each other. This is just wrong, and totally inappropriate for a Wii sports game that is supposed to offer most fun in multiplayer modes!
House of the Dead: Overkill
+ Brilliant design from start to finish
+ Brilliantly awful storytelling from start to finish
+ Epic soundtrack. Best game soundtrack in a long time.
+ upgradable weapons that feel great
+ Shooting Zombies has never been more satisfying. The physics are very good.
+ A lot of content worth spending time with, including a "Horde"-like Survival mode
+ Incredibly awesome with a friend and two Hand Cannons...
- ... after you've spend an hour calibrating them to work in proper Lightgun mode. The calibration screen is ust broken in every possible way. Almost completely useless. And if you want to play with Crosshairs turned on, they're very slow.
Oh yeah:
House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return
+ Best controls of any Wii Arcade shooter yet. 100% smooth and easy calibration
+ Lots of different modes
+ Experience the incredible badness of House of the Dead 2 and see what the fuzz with Goldman is about
+ Shouldn't be too expensive
+ House of the Dead 3 is a really good game
- House of the Dead 2 really isn't..
- Straight-up port of the arcade machines. It's difficult, there are no saves games. Either you see the end, or you start over.
- Annoying menu sounds
- Awful stories
Some top of my head games I miss from the OP list:" Just ordered my first wii, and scanned through your thread. Should be a big help, thanks. "
-Wiisport Resort
- Little King Story
- KIrby Epic Yarn ( there is also a more traditional Kirby game rumored for this year)
- Galaxy 2
- Donkey Kong Returns
- Muramasa
- Punch-Out
-Mario Sport Mix
