So between the time of my last blog entry titled Why I will never buy a Wii and the Giant Bomb Quick Look of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, i went out and bought myself a Wii and despite my previous statements it's not that hard for me to play. I do find the Wiimote a bit touchy but i'm sure i'll get used to that. Anyway I bought NSMB, Punch Out, Zelda: TP and Mario Kart. My walmart was all out of WSR/Motion Plus bundles but i'll get that later. So far i've had lots of fun with it even though controlling it will take some getting used to.

The Nintendo Wii is a home video game console released on November 19, 2006. The Wii's main selling point was the innovative use of motion controls that its signature Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers allowed for. It became the best selling home console of its respective generation of hardware.
I retract my previous statement

Let's see how long you'll play it for. That is the important part. Hopefully it keeps you interested.
" I'm sorry man, but you haven't experienced everything the Wii has to offer. You forgot about A Boy and his Blob. "Well he just started so give him some time. It's a good game though.
Good luck with your purchase. There are a few games that have limited motion controls or none at all. Muramasa has zero waggle so it might be worth a look. I'd also recommend Smash Bros. Brawl because of the variety of different control schemes.
Ya see! Wiis are fun too people!
That aside, there's a lot of great games for the Wii. I'm no expert in Wiis but oldschool tends to post massive list of good games for the Wii. If there's a good game for the Wii he'll know (along with other Wiii-ers).
"I'd also recommend Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, both great games.

These are all things I plan to get to, as my status says, there are WAY too many good games I need to finish.
"Have fun duder. There are many fun games that don't use motion controls much to enjoy, but maybe you'll manage some that do too. "
Thanks, yeah i'm sure i'll manage.
" @AgentJ said:My positive thoughts as well man."I hope it works for you despite your Cerebral Palsy. Have fun with NSMB "thanks "
I am sure you will have lots of fun, and being here, you are sure to avoid the shovelware - unless you like Ponyz and Catz ^-^
That is a damn fine first 4 game purchase though.
All consoles are good and we should embrace them all if we can afford them. Elitism = stupidity.

That statement was the kind of thing I was hoping for when I came to GB I despise fanboys.
"YOU BOUGHT PUNCH OUT!!! I LOVE YOU!!! Go for a No More Heroes if you can, too. "
Yeah Punch Out! is great, and No more Heroes is up there on my list in third actually just behind Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Any desire for Virtual Console games, Mr_Bubbles? Like maybe River City Ransom?
"Any desire for Virtual Console games, Mr_Bubbles? Like maybe River City Ransom? "
Yes actually just need to get myself some Wii Points.
Give it a few weeks and you'll be patting yourself on the back in a thread about NPD numbers. It's a slippery slope.
" @BD_Mr_Bubbles: I'm sure you know some games need the classic controller, much to my displeasure. =( "
Oh I know I bought one I always do my research before buying new consoles and/or games.

Your probably right.
" Let's see how long you'll play it for. That is the important part. Hopefully it keeps you interested. "Yeah, it be a shame if he picked it up and it just sat there, which is what happened with my 360 after three months. The straw that really broke the camels back is when it red ringed.
Not if you clean it, like you do with your other consoles apparently." It's gonna be collecting dust in a month. "
Anyway, @BD_Mr_Bubbles ,despite the hate the Wii gets around here, it is a fantastic system with games as good (or even better, depending on the occasion) as the other consoles. The main thing you have to remember is that just like the other consoles, you have to buy games for it in order to fully enjoy it. It baffles me someone saying they don't use their Wii and then say the last game they bought for it was over a year ago. No, duh, you think?
The problem is not buying a Wii, I bought a Wii and had fun, for about two months, now I don't have any more games I'm interested in, and no future game that calls for my attention.
Good luck selling your console in the future.

Don't feel bad i'm on my 3rd 360.
"Great to hear you're enjoying it, sadly the two games I would recommend need a bit more motion then the ones you're enjoying. Might be a good idea to rent them if you don't know if you might be able to play them or not: The Godfather and Resident Evil 4. "
I'll give both a try.

"See kids, when you stop being a flaming fanboy, you too can realize that all consoles provide something wonderful to enjoy. Keep an eye out for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. It's lookin' sharp. "
Thanks for the tip.

Stop wasting your time with those and get Super Mario Galaxy.
