The Xbox 360 is the second game console produced by Microsoft Corporation and is the successor to the original Xbox.
i feel like going out and buy a good 360 rpg?
Lost Odyssey, Fallout 3, Blue Dragon (although that's kinda controversial), and many others are good choices.
I've been playing Lost Odyssey a fair bit, and it's pretty good, it really is alot like final fantasy 8 though, so if you like that it's good apprentley it goes a lot down hill at disk 4, but that's still 3 disks of good gameplay, and I picked it up for £10, which I don't think you can complain about at that price.
Okay, if you like typical sub-par JRPG's hit up Lost Odyssey. It of course has a bunch of characters who are annoyingly bitchy, a couple of funny ones, and the obligatory-yet-expected "plot twists."
I checked your achievements, saw you played Fallout 3 and Mass Effect already. How about giving Oblivion a shot? I can't say it's as good as Fallout, but I still enjoyed playing what little I have. 30 bucks gets you the game of the year edition with two or three expansions!
" Hmm so youve played ME and F3?Then I would recommend these solid but flawed RPGs, Lost Odyssey and Eternal Sonata "Fixed. Lost Odyssey's combat, incredibly bland menus, and random encounter frequency ruined that game for me, and Eternal Sonata is just way too damn cutesy and cheery for me. That little kid with the rifle that takes pictures, I wanted to strangle him to death. A damn shame too since the combat system and music in that game was excellent.

I finished Lost Odyssey a few months ago and I have to agree that it's pretty damn good. I've just started Tales of Vesperia and so far it's been really impressive.
SUCKS FOR YOU! HAHAHAHAHA......uh what? If you love old school JRPGs then you will love this game. "*eyes light up with glee, girlish squeals slip out of mouth*
The thing that pisses me off about Lost Odyssey is that you need to FIND spells. You can't learn them until you FIND THEM hidden in the towns.
I got stuck on a boss and looked at a FAQ and it said, "Remember that heal all spell you found earlier? Use that and this boss is easy as pie." I responded, "NO I DON'T FUCKING REMEMBER," turned off my 360, and haven't played the game since.
Games that essentially require FAQs in order to do well in are bullshit.
The Tales of Vesperia demo seemed pretty damn good. I don't even like JRPG's much and I'm still tempted to go out and buy it.
Said it before i'll say it again, as one of those rabbid FFVII fanboys (well, maybe not, but I still consider FFVII the greatest JRPG ever made) I can quite happily say that Lost Odyssey is the best thing since FFVII, I cannot reccomend it enough. A few simple design errors keep it in my opinion, from even beating out FFVII as the best.
I'm about 11 hours into Star Ocean, i'm really enjoying it, but I swear to god, if another game developer EVER creates a character who speaks monotone and says " 'Kay " 2 out of 3 lines of dialogue (no exxageration at all, if anything 2/3 is an understatement) I will kill them with my bare hands. Other than that, it's fine and i'm really enjoying it, controls are a little stiff and some of the environments look a bit crappy, but hey since i'm only just starting and it's taken me as long as it takes to beat most other full price games, I can deal with that. Edit: Also, there's no way Lymle is 15 I don't care what the manual says, she looks like shes about 5 and acts like maybe shes 12 at most. What's the point?! I hate carting around super powerful characters who are 2 foot tall annoying brats, it's like just fuck off that trend should have died in the 90s.
The rest though, i've played most of them and they aren't worth shit. Enchanted arms is ok but lacking severely in many areas, the combats nice and unique though, only thing that kept me playing it. Also it's super cheap. Eternal Sonata was fine, but something about it just kept me away :\ cant put my finger on it. Infinite Undiscovery has apparently, the worst opening section of any videogame ever, it utterly kicked me in the teeth it was so bad, what's worse is the localization is some of the worst i've seen since the original Persona, or One Piece. Apparently it gets a lot better, but shit, I couldnt take another minute of it.
Then there is Last Remnant, I dunno, certain things about that game reminded me of Lost Odyssey in many ways, but I couldnt get on with the combat, or the characters, again, I got very very bored about 6 or 7 hours in and just gave up.
Phantasy Star Universe is aight, boring as hell but its relaxing.
That's about all i've played 360 wise, don't know about Tales of Vesperia never played it. All I know is the marketplace content for it offends me, paying to level up my character?!?! Fuck off. Sure it's nice that lazy people have the option, but, jeese what the hell. There's 5 packs called the same damned thing "Level up 10(1),(2) etc" and "Level Up 5(1), (2), (3) etc" as you can only buy each one once, it's ridiculous, you can also buy a bunch of items and new skills for your characters. I bummed the free ones before they went paid, and if I ever play it will probably use them, but shit anyone who's gotta pay to level their JRPG character is playing the wrong genre.
" I liked Enchanted Arms. That game is underated. "Indeed. I've never seen anyone suggesting that, though it's been out for a while.
" I'm not the least bit an JRPG fan and I enjoyed Eternal Sonata. But I also love Chopin. "I also add my voice to Eternal Sonata. It is by a massive distance, the best game on the 360 for me so far (I have 16 games in total). I loved the music, the characters, the art - every damn thing. I played it in Japanese as I found the English voices annoying.
for a western fantasy rpg, go with oblivion, defiantly go with oblivion.
as for eternal sonata, im trading it in today probably. I got to a boss and after 2 hours of frustrating defeats i officially done with it.
"Has anyone mentioned Oblivion? That is classed as an RPG isn't it?Fantastic game which will be cheap and pretty much up your street if you digged Fallout 3"
Not necessarily. Plenty of people who liked Fallout 3 disliked Oblivion, and vica versa.
Also, it's legitimacy as an RPG depends entirely on who you ask, personally, I think it's nothing but a glorified action/adventure with a few RPG nuts and bolts tagged on, it's abritrary levelling system, completely dull and uninteractive world and it's focus solely on dungeon crawling instead of character progression or exploration leaves it only barely an RPG. I absolutely despised it, but hey enough people seem to like it that I would reccomend trying it, it's cheap enough. But don't expect much.
Im playing Tales Of Vesperia which I find better than Mass Effect, Fallout 3 or Oblivion. All of those were horrible in my opinion.
well i enjoyed fable 2, but i guess its not that rpg-ish if youre looking 4 leveling and stuff
oh and if youre really desperate id say too human i got it and i got about 5 hours in b4 i dumped it. i though it was terrifying but maybe others think different
