What people have to realize is that 4 players can play with one kinect. Compared to the price you would have to play to get 4 people playing move or wii this is actually cheaper then both other systems.
Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 is the second game console produced by Microsoft Corporation and is the successor to the original Xbox.
Prices for Kinect leaked. You will say 'god damn'.
" @AndrewGaspar said:While I agree the price is a little expensive, saying it's just two cameras is ridiculous. It is really some impressive technology." Based on how powerful the technology seems to be, it seems pretty reasonable to me. You're almost buying another console with Kinect. "It's 2 cameras. It's hardly super high tech and it's nothing like another console. It's basically a new controller if anything. "
Can you tape two cameras, place it on your TV, and make it track your movement?
I thought not .
The tech is pretty amazing, the software is quite lacking.
Those are not confirmed yet, and I cannot see them charging $60 for shovelware. I am probably not going to pick this up, but these prices would totally push the casuals away.
Hope they come out with a price without the game. I have no interest at all in playing games on this thing but the rest of the voice recognition and dashboard navigation would be nice to have .
$150 for kinect no games. then $60 for the games = 210.
$50 +$30 for move controllers + $20 for camra (bundle) + $40 per game = $100 for the bundle but $40 per game so $140.
move is cheaper and plus a extra game still is cheaper...
I don't know what everyone's so het up about. The $150 price tag isn't really a surprise. People have been speculating that as the price for a long time now. And as I've said in the past, people were willing to drop a lot of money on the Rock Band and Guitar Hero props, and they were only good for a few games. So who knows how much people will spend on this. $150 is at the top end of the range, but I don't think it's crazy.
I would say "God damn" (that doesn't count), but the $149 price was rumored weeks ago. However, $60 for those lame games? They looked like $10 XBLA games. Maybe $20 if they were trying to stretch it.
If these prices are true, then that's the final nail in the coffin for me. I was never really all that interested in Kinect to begin with, but at prices like that, I would go out of my way to tell people I know NOT to buy it.
Seeing as they're treating this as a full on console rather than an accessory, it makes sense. the casuals will buy it. Hell, my sisters will buy it, my 8 year old sister for Kinectimals, and my older sister for Dance Central.
and dance central has a really good song selection.

For Kinectimals, this is debatable cause it's basically like nintendogs, which was a full-priced DS game, on a console, so a full-priced console game makes sense. If Dance Central's song list is robust and there is some sort of career mode like GH or Rock Band, or if they teach you to do that shit real well, I can see that justified. The Ubisoft fitness thing will sell cause it's like Wii Fit, but better since it tracks calories, etc., and you can do more exersize with your full body.
The minigames stuff and such should be lower priced, but the more game-type stuff is appropriately priced.
Kinect is priced well if you view it as a super add-on, since it's basically making it like the Wii.
On top of that, MS last year said that they planned for Kinect to extend past the 360, so the next xbox would use it as well. A lot longer life than you may think for this thing if it's true.
I'll buy it when I see a game worth getting...
Right now scratching tiger heads, boosting crappy car models around the screen and painting like Jackson Pollack seems interesting for all of about 5 minutes
I've gotten pretty bored of the idea just watching the game actors fake all the fun their having on stage...
Now when I see applications to some real core gaming, I'll consider it but until then, no thanks
This is with the new xbox 360 what are you guys thinking that that's kincet by it's self. Kinect is 150 by it's self. PROOF: http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?sku=020055&loc=ntlalone
