Overview
Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah and founded in 1995 by Scott Campbell, Matthew C. Greenberg and Bill Platter, Singletrac Entertainment Technologies, Inc. was a video game developer who worked both on the Playstation and PC. Initially compromised primarily of ex-Evans & Turner staffers, they gained notoriety in particular for their work on the Twisted Metal and Jet Moto franchises.
After their initial success producing the aforementioned games for Sony Computer Entertainment, Singletrac was purchased in October of 1997 for $14.7 million by publisher GT Interactive, who would go on to publish Critical Depth, Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012 and Streak: Hoverboard Racing for the Playstation before themselves being acquired by Infogrames, Inc. in late 1999.
Under the Infogrames, Inc. banner however, Singletrac would only produce one title, Animorphs: Shattered Reality in 2000 for the Playstation, before they were closed down. Prior to the shuttering of their studio, a number of Singletrac employees did leave to form what is know now as Incognito Entertainment in 1999, producers of titles such as Twisted Metal: Black, War of the Monsters and Calling All Cars!.
