In Baldur's Gate II the player will gain access to a unique stronghold tailored to their avatar's class: A castle for warriors and barbarians, a planar sphere for wizards and sorcerers, a thieves guild for rogues, a cabin for rangers, a playhouse for bards, and a bed at their chosen organization's headquarters for clerics and paladins. Each stronghold comes with quests that can only be completed by possessing it, and performing exceptionally poorly at these quests can cause the player to lose them. Several strongholds are also excellent sources of gold.
