Juggernaut last edited by cwf97 on 09/22/18 10:12AM View full history

Giant X-Men villain of Marvel Comics. He is a mid-level boss in various games and is playable in Capcom's Marvel Series and other fighting games. Although sometimes depicted as a mutant, in reality, he is an ordinary human enhanced through magical means, the mystical Ruby of Cyttorak. In the comics, Cain was the favorite son of his father and his step-mother. He picks on his younger brother Charles Xavier, later known as Professor X.

During their service in the Korean War, Cain and Charles found the ancient temple of Cytorrak. Cain saw a Crimson Gem and took it for himself. The gem carried an inscription: : "Whosoever touches this gem shall be granted the power of the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak! Henceforth, you who read these words, shall become ... forevermore ... a human juggernaut!". Because he was idiotically reading the inscription out loud when he grabbed the gem, the spell instantly took hold. The Gem's powerful magic gave Cain Marko Superhuman strength, invulnerability and an otherwordly force that allowed him to become unstoppable. When Cain builds up momentum, nothing can stop him, except Cain himself.

Wizard magazine ranked the Juggernaut 188th on their list of the Top 200 Comic Book Characters of All Time.
