    Killzone 2 0

Killzone 2 is an amazing breathtaking game, but without its charm can the gameplay hold up?  Killzone 2 doesnt really fill you in with the story at all, if you didnt played the first one already which doesnt help to make it more unique than other FPS out there. You play as Sev a sergeant that was sent to Visari to capture the Helghast Leaders. You play most of the game going level to level with so much action that it doesnt focus on the story to much or the character development.    The game do...

    Killzone 2 0

There are games that I buy when they first come out, games that I can afford or dont have time to buy when they first comes out, and games that I just dont want when they first come out. Killzone is the latter of those three. I decided to pick it up now just to give it a go and I am pleasantly surprised. It's actually a bloody good game. It's a lot of fun to play, the shooting is immensely satisfying, the graphics are at times breathtaking and the campaign condensed and excellently paced. It's ...

    A beautiful half-awesome package 0

Let's face it: first-person shooters is the game-du-jour and many will come out and attempt to take on Halo, Call of Duty or more story-driven games like Half-Life 2 and Bioshock. Some succeed while others fall completely flat on their face so when the E3 video of Killzone 2 blew everyone away, people saw just how powerful the Playstation 3 can be, but then we waited....and waited. And just for a change of pace, we waited some more until it finally came out February of 2009. Reviews were positiv...

Killzone 2 looks great, but is merely solid on all other accounts 0

When Guerilla Games showed off its first trailer for the second Killzone at E3 2005, it looked so amazing that people couldn't help but go crazy for the prospect of getting to play it themselves. It was to be one of those games that would show off the PS3's advantage in terms of power compared to other platforms. The trailer turned out to be pre-rendered, and as such the pressure was on Guerilla to crank out a game that came close enough to that original trailer to satisfy the fans. It was pr...

Solid, but by the numbers and mediocre 0

Nowadays, it is very hard for a first person shooter to separate itself from the pack. There have been so many advancements and refinements to the genre in the last five years that it's next to impossible to find a game that does something extraordinary to distinguish itself. As a consequence, you can find a lot of games that are decent and sort of fun, but not memorable or worth playing more than once. Killzone 2 is one of those games. It borrows a lot of little elements from other shooters lik...

A series of failed promises lives up to its reputation. 0

My skeptic alarm was going off when the initial trailer hit for Killzone 2 showing a mesmerizing battle that blurred the lines between gameplay and cutscene. I wasn't so interested in the "is it pre-rendered?" conversation as I was about the fluidity of the gameplay. And wasn't all this a bit suspicious after "Killzone" tried to push the same "wow" hype only to come up empty? Guerilla didn't learn apparently, and Killzone 2 turned out disappointingly (if predictably) static. Much more polished, ...

One hell of a shooter 0

Pros:-Amazing visuals; some of the best ever made-Campaign is intense and fun-Multiplayer is deep, addictive, and very fun-Guns feel and shoot great-Enemy AI is highly intelligent and provides a great challenge-Cover system is unique and solidCons:-Weak storyline and forgettable charactersKillzone 2 is quite possibly one of the most technically stunning games ever created, but great tech and visuals alone doesn't make a game good. Fortunately, Killzone 2 plays as amazing as it looks, and it offe...

    AMAZINGLY REALISTIC 0

Okay this game is nothing but awesomeness i picked up this game on release day expecting it to be a decently good game but as i continue my playing of this game online i am realizing how amazing this game truly is. The online is very realistic because it is not like Call of Duty 4 where everyone is a soldier and  his or her main goals is to kill everyone this one acctually has medics and mechanics along with the basic soldier. Another realism to the game is that people dont die the instant you s...

Possible Greatness Mired By Poor Controls 5

An impressive package of online and offline first person shooting is hampered by an abysmal control scheme.Developer Guerrilla Games set out to create an FPS experience where weapons have weight and realistic handling. While realism is a laudable goal, their implementation of this goal comes at the price of playability and fun.The Killzone 2 campaign is an action-packed machismo romp with absolutely stunning graphics. The story line is serviceable at best but doesn't hamper the game's overall fu...

A prime of example of just how powerful the PS3 really is 0

It's been a long time coming, but after a 4 year wait, Killzone 2 is finally out on store shelves. Developed by Guerrilla Games, this is a PlayStation 3 exclusive sci-fi FPS, set in a galactic war between two human colonies, the ISA and the Helghast. This time around, the ISA are launching an invasion of the Helghast homeworld in response to their invasion of the ISA planet Vekta in the original Killzone. Ok, so let's get the obvious stuff out of the way. Killzone 2 looks beautiful and is comfo...

Four years in development and worth the wait!!! 0

After nearly four years in development, the infamous Killzone 2 has been released exclusively on the Playstation 3 platform. It's a First Person Shooter developed by Guerrilla Games that lives up to the initial CGI trailer released at E3 in 2005. Without going into too much detail, plain and simple, this game is a must buy for ALL PS3 owners and warrants at least a rent for owners of multiple platforms. The single player campaign follows the events of Killzone and Killzone: Liberation, and entir...

A Game That Lives up to the Hype. 0

The Story the story is nothing much or amazing its about a planet invading another planet who are the Helagsht they are like the germas of ww2 you kind of the idea what the story is about. but the game starts out you arriving on the planet and you start shooting bad guys. so thats cool. the characters are cool but not much character devlopment just people giving military options and just saying stuff like “fuck that” when in war against Helghast. your side is also Says Higs which is a racist ter...

    Bullet Point Review: KillZone 2 (PS3) 0

What I liked: Graphics - I know liking the graphics in todays games is nothing new, but KZ2 looks really really good. There's one part in the game where you're fighting with a big mushroom cloud in the background, and I stopped and looked at it a few times because it was so real looking. A.I. - You know how in most games when an enemy hides behind something like a low wall, all you usually have to do is wait for them to pop their head out? Well in KZ2 the baddies are alot smarter. When they tak...

Killzone 2 Makes Me Wish My Friends Owned PS3s 0

Killzone 2 provides both a fantastic single-player campaign and an engrossing multiplayer experience. If you enjoy shooters of the first person variety, you will almost certainly enjoy this game. I played through the campaign on Veteran difficulty (KZ2 is similar to Gears of War 2 in that the default difficulty is almost too easy for gamers who play shooters regularly), and I didn't encounter too many frustratingly difficult moments. The pace was good, the levels are varied and well-designed, an...

    If looks could kill... 0

This is one good looking game, no doubt. The game immediately impresses with a great opening cinamatic and once you get control, its hard to know what you are supposed to do because you are just checking out the graphics. But like most games with great graphics, that does wear off after a while. But KZ2 continues to impress with good setpieces and somewhat varied locations. It also has good use of some well worn FPS standars like turrets and vehicle sub missions. These help the game from getting s...

ENTER THE KILLZONE FOR ONE OF THE PS3'S FINEST TITLES! 0

ENTER THE KILLZONE FOR ONE OF THE PS3'S FINEST TITLES!Hype can be a deadly uncontrollable disease to a videogame, it can ruin a games enjoyment within seconds and in today's tough financial times, destroy a whole development studio. As the gaming industry gets bigger and bigger each year, the expectation of gamers do to. Gamers expect more for their hard earned buck nowadays and already hype as killed off many a game in these past two years alone. Though one could argue that often, it's the deve...

A Guerrilla threw up on my face 0

That's right, that's what I said. A Guerrilla threw up on my face, or at least that is how I felt after I finished KillZone 2. Now before everybody out there that LOVES this game, and feels it is the second coming of FPS's goes off the deep end and starts throwing out words like "Fan-Boy" or "Noob", sit back, take a deep breath and just give me a chance to explain myself. Have you ever been on a blind date, or even on a date with someone that you "kinda" knew about, or on a second date where ...

    Killzone 2 0

Killzone 2 has been said to be "one of those" games. What I mean is that it was one of those games that had been so distended with hype that it seemed no matter the outcome of the final product, it would never meet the expectations that the argumentative masses had placed upon it. Or so I thought. You see ladies and gentlemen, Killzone 2 has definitely met these expectations and so much more. So in another way, Killzone 2 is "one of those games" that so rarely play the part. The game starts as yo...

The Killzone odyssey has a happy ending 3

It all started with the "Ballet of Death" video. I had no idea what Killzone was. As soon I saw that video I thought "Humm, maybe I will get this game". I was really impressed by the animations and graphics. It was still a FPS, not my favorite type of game, but I thought about checking it out. My main interest was the multiplayer, because I didn't own any multiplayer game that I really liked on the PS3 back then and because of that I always played multiplayer on the PC. Then came the reviews and...

No reason not to pick this up 0

The drop ship has landed and it is finally time to kick some Helgast ass! Aw yes, one of the most anticipated games on the PS3 is finally on store shelves. And now the smoke has lifted, what does it reveal, does it deliver on all the promises? Or more importantly should I buy this? I will not waste your time any further and just give you the answer. HELL YEA you should buy it! Wait so is this game that good? Yes. So should I go buy it? yyyyeeeessss. Ok enough of this one-sided argument and just...

As they rise from the ashes 0

I was never planning on buying this game ever after I played the first one, because it sucked, like bad !!! Surprisingly, after I saw IGNs and gamespots reviews on this game, my thoughts flipped. So the on the release day, I bought it. I have tried it out for and ooh boy this game rocks !! I mean its solid rock !! Graphics: Best graphics I have seen in an FPS since modern warfare and I mean its THAT DAMN GOOD !!! Game play: Its no CS source, but its kinda slow. I mean it feels heavy, with all...

Maps, they don't love you like I sort of do 0

Any online shooter can get additional legs based on the oh-so-popular/hated form of "map packs", additional maps that players can shoot and/or stab their friends and random folk online. When I say "hated" though, I mean how people always have an issue with it one way or the other whether they feel way too pricey for the amount of content you're getting, the quality of the maps themselves or the frequency and even smaller things like community segregation where non-DLC owning players get booted o...

    Pretty good tactical maps 1

Both these new maps are well designed and encourage tactical gameplay. The new map-specific weapons that are introduced are fun, but don't really  alter the gameplay experience as much as the developpers would have you believe. The Suljeva Cliffs level is small and suitable for no more than 20-24 players. Beyond that, things get too chaotic. However, it provides a great environment for small scale battles with a map unlike any other small levels in the game (in other words, it's a viable alternat...

The playstation 3 finally has its killer app 0

Its been a long time coming, but the PS3 finally has Killzone 2, a game that supposedly is to beat Halo and all other comers to the crown of definitive FPS. That is a lofty claim, and one which sadly isn’t lived up to, but Killzone 2 is a fantastic game in its own right. You play as Sev, a soldier in the ISA (Internal Strategic Alliance) fighting a war against the Helghast, a vicious bunch of, well space Nazis, who are now fighting to rid their home world of Helghan of you and your comrades. T...

Killzone 2 is the first must have FPS of the year! 0

I was aware of the hype going into this game. I can say with confidence it has certainly lived up to it. This is an absolutely fantastic FPS experience that has already provided me with several fun hours, and many more to come. The story takes you to the Helghan planet where the ISA intends to over throw emperor Visari who initiated the attack on the Vektan planet in the first Killzone. This is pretty much all the story you get in Killzone 2. The paper thin story comes with very little charac...

    Fantastic! 0

First of all, after playing the game for over 40 hours, this is one of the finest games you will play in this generation.  Usually, I don't talk about graphics, sounds and all that good stuff in my reviews, because I am mostly worried more about gameplay and the mechanics then how pretty a game looks.  With that being said, the game does look and sound pretty damn good.Ok, so before I talk about the good stuff, some people still have doubts about the "slow" controls.  To be honest, I was in the ...

An exciting thrill ride but not a perfect one. 0

Killzone 2 follows what seems to be an ongoing trend these days of an FPS having a fantastic but short rollercoaster like experience where it is fun and exilerating while it lasts but when it's done your not satisfied and even more so in Killzone 2 than most games and it makes up for it with amazingly addictive multi-player. Killzone 2 has one of the most disappointing endings I have experienced since halo 2, that dosen't make the experince itself any worse but is is disappointing. However the q...

A few problems hamper an otherwise great multiplayer experience.. 0

Killzone 2 will take some getting used to.  Even for veteran FPS players, the controls will feel a bit unwieldy even after a few hours of playing.  Giving up on Killzone because of initially frustrating controls would be a bad idea though.  The single player experience is nothing to write home about with the exception of its visuals.  The weather effects alone on the alien planet will cause you to pause for a moment in awe.  The AI is admirable in that I never noticed the enemies doing anything ...

    Real Pretty.... 0

This was the first PS3 game that I have purchased for the year and i loved it. I don't buy a whole lot of games throughout the year, so i am really selective and try and get the biggest bang for my buck and this game delivers. The single player is fairly forgettable but still pretty and fun to play. The one main reason to play through it is to get a taste of some of the weapons that are not in multi-player. The cover system really becomes a take it or leave it and even on the hardest difficulty ...

    Killzone 2 Review 0

The PS3 has had a tough time in the past years. With great titles coming out on the platform and failing to do much for the console it was a worry that Killzone 2 would be another over hyped experience that is easily forgettable. Let me tell you now that is far from the case. The story follows Alpha squad. Your character Sergeant "Sev" Sevchenko, is accompanied by Rico, Garza and Natko. The more interesting thing about these characters is that they are not amazing heroes that are sent into save t...

Incredible presentation but little replay value 0

I wasn't a fan of the original Killzone the game.  I was a fan of the concept, the style, the setting, the atmosphere and the absolute grit and grim Killzone 1 had.  But the game itself suffered from sluggish controls, choppy frame-rate, numerous bugs and glitches (especially online) and felt like a big bag of great ideas with nothing to tie them together.  I knew Guerilla Games' heart was in the right place and they needed a sequel to realize everything and the time to look back on what went wr...

An Epic Single Player with a Rewarding Multiplayer 0

Killzone 2 can basically be summed up with my title. It has an amazing single player campaign but also has a multiplayer that is a little hard to jump into but is rewarding in the long run.First off, this if the first PS3 game that I have played and I am quite happy with my first choice. When you start the game there is a pretty intense introduction sequence before the start menu that already gives you an idea of what you're going to expect in the game. Basically, you are a soldier of the ISA wh...
