Games Completed: 2012 Edition

I figured instead of trying to comb my memory for every single game I've finished (and in order), I'd just start marking off games starting from the start of 2012. "Finished" meaning reaching the end of the story or whatever. If I meant 100%ing a game, there would be almost nothing on this list!

In chronological order:

List items

  • I'm counting visual novels as games for this list. Type MOOOOOOON

  • 236/236 nodes complete, dawg.

  • "LEON! HAAAALP!" It took me way too long to play this.

  • 4.5 hours total play time? I know that's not right, game. This is kinda short, but it's still fun. Dropkicking robots err'y day.

  • Never has a game's ending annoyed me so much. "Tune in next time in Arc the Lad 2" bullshit.

  • Aww, I was expecting a longer ending. Maybe choosing Musubi wasn't the best idea after all, haha.

..So, I went through this whole game dying maybe, 3 times? Then I get to the second half of the Tower of Kagatsuchi and proceed to die like, 6 times in one day.

All in all, this game's pretty great. I should have picked this up a looong time ago.

  • The social media thingo is a cool concept, if only for the first time you read this.

  • Beat this at a friends place. That totally counts, right? ..I-It's not like I wanted your trophies or anything.

  • Game, you can't just cover all of your plotholes by saying "LOL IT'S A PARADOX". Other than that, the game's alright.

  • You should probably play this. Really.

    I NEED MORE

  • The best character in this? Kenji. Everything that comes out of that guy's mouth is GOLD.

  • ReAct: Final Tuned, dawg. There's this stupid bug in the story where if you fight someone with 'Unlimited' magic circuit, all fights after will have it too. Just lettin' ya know.

  • So I'm gonna count finishing the main Dragonborn questline as "finishing" this game. I KNOW IT'S NOT

  • Three words: Unlimited Caladbolg Works. Beat Ryougi Shiki, too.. It's disappointing that Touko doesn't have anything to say about it, though.

  • Alright, so I've already seen like 90% of the story already, so uhh.. yeah. Not much to really "finish" here. Also, I miss Bang's old voice.

  • ..And I thought battles in Nocturne made me nervous. (Hoo boy, that last boss felt like it went forever. Not in a bad way, though) Anyway, I'll go back and do the Snow Queen quest sometime down the road, probably when I download the game again after I buy a Vita.

  • BEATRICE

  • So everything that isn't a Zelda dungeon is pretty good. Also, that last boss fight was a joke. Really?

  • So how do you "beat" a game with no real story of its own? I dunno, unlock everything in the gallery, I guess.

  • Yo, dat True Route. Blows your mind for like, 6 hours straight. And THEN it gets fucking ridiculous.. In a good way.

  • Pokemon White, 'cause I'm racist like that.

  • Seiiiiikooooooo~

  • I've spent sooo much time playing this damned game.. Well, it is pretty good. New game plus takes about 1/10th of the time as doing everything does, though.

  • It's kinda dumb that you don't get the "Finish the game with Scott" achievement/trophy if you're playing multiplayer.

  • This game is a product of the 90's, all right.

  • Well, after a little help from "grinding a bunch of money and getting to level 80 so I could buy a stupidly overpowered demon or two" the last boss went from [fucking impossible] to [a fucking joke]. Also, the neutral ending is pretty tame, what I've read about Law and Chaos seems far more interesting.

  • Onward to Post-game! I think my playthrough of this took longer than Persona 4, and that's saying something. God, this game's so anime

  • Those last few hours.. are all kinds of crazy. Very Ever17-like, but more global. I think I still like 999 more though; it felt like that game actually ended while this one has set up a sequel(? But backwards).

  • Coming soon: Borderworlds.

  • More like: Persona 4 da GOD. Game Of The Year for sure.

  • YOU EAT THE SOLAR SYSTEM. THE WHOLE THING. Oh, and spoilers.
