Does the gameplay ever change? Do you play as a Titan? Or is it kinda the same thing all the way through?

The game is very repetitive, and you do get to play as a Titan, but the core combat is SO GOOD. Unfortunately it starts wearing thin and as soon as the game is starting to overstay its welcome, it then unveils a Monster Hunter-esque side quest system and hides an entire epilogue behind that, so that got me quite upset.

I don't really know what to think of this game. I can't remember a game that has so nailed a mechanic that sounds almost impossible to achieve in a videogame, but they did it, and it feels amazing. But that's all the game is, basically.

It is, however, by default, much much better than any Dynasty Warriors game, that's for sure.

I thought it was pretty bad, they seemed uncomfortable and the band members behind them on stage made for a really awkward experience on stream. I'm sure it looked better in person.

I haven't played it but I think people are overreacting, specifically with their initial reaction towards the marketing hype.

I hate to be in the "I told you so" camp, but from the start, if you know anything about how videogames work, promising "anything is possible" with regards to an absurdly high number of procedurally generated locations is nothing more than a glorified parlor trick.

Most successful games that rely on procedural generation usually do it to complement an engaging core mechanic that was meticulously designed. When your core mechanic is what's being generated procedurally, then it's simply pressing a button and seeing what the random machine comes up with next time.

I think people who feel wronged by this should probably give in a little less on the hype next time. Hopefully it'll scare devs away from leaning in too much into procedural generation. It's a neat tool that can give some longevity to games that have a core mechanic they do really well, but it should definitely not be the thing that makes your game stand out -- because machines are boring and predictable, even when they're supposedly "random".

I feel similar compulsions sometimes but not the anxiety associated with yours, so it probably won't be of any help, but I suppose a basic technique technique to focus completely could help. Try turning off the second monitor and the lights and put the game sound very loud, and embrace the anxious feeling. Do it for as long as you need to until it goes away.

I'm not a professional, but as far as I'm aware, anxiety is rooted in the same basic fear everyone goes through when facing the unknown, and the way to get rid of it is to face it head on. But as always, if you feel you're unable to do it and it makes you unhappy -- by all means, SEE A PROFESSIONAL.

They fucked up big time by marketing this game as the end-all, be-all when anyone barely knowledgeable could tell from the day 1 announcement that it was probably gonna be the same procedurally generated survival game you see a dime a dozen on the Steam landing page, only with spaceships.

It might be a great one of those, but boy a lot of people are going to be disappointed HARD.

They are always messing with each other. They put on a show. Jason doesn't hate Dan, they're friends.

People sometimes take regular human being interactions way too strangely in the internet.

Can't get Joy2Key or Xpadder to work which is a shame. I can "play" with a keyboard but it's relearning a whole system.

Claiming "better representation" leads to token race characters, which is BY FAR the most damning thing about political correctness, and the one thing, as someone who was raised in a multicultural third world country, always makes my eyes roll when I see American media.
