Big Sale on Steam

Digital retailer goes blowout crazy, everything on sale until January 2. Bioshock for $4.99? That's just madness.

There's that Steam logo again. Good thing I've memorized my credit card number already.

In case you're looking for some post-Christmas deals in the area of digital game downloads, or if you need to buy a late gift for that person you didn't think you were close enough to to buy gifts for, only to find that they had gotten you something and now you feel like a serious jerk, Steam has got your back.

The popular gaming-focused e-tailer's having a sale until January 2. Items are discounted anywhere between 10 and 75 percent, resulting in crazy-sounding deals like Bioshock for $4.99. TrackMania United Forever (one of my recent faves) is down to $19.99. Audiosurf is only $4.99. Garry's Mod is down to $8.99. Warhammer Online can be had for $37.49. Heck, Doom II is going for 99 cents. Even Grand Theft Auto IV, which seems to be on the way to running better via a patch or two, is down to $44.99.

Having just reformatted my machine, it was pretty cool to be able to easily redownload and reinstall all of these games I've picked up from Steam over the years. This digital distribution thing might actually make some sense after all!

Anyway, the sale's certainly worth checking out if you're in the hunt for some new PC games before the end of the year.

Considering my PayPal Account won't be receiving money until the 2nd, I might be fucked. I was only interested in buying CS:S for $10, though. I'll wait for another awesome sale.

...fuck, should have made the request several days ago! I'm adding over $75 anyways!

Seems like a great opportunity for me to grab Audiosurf. I always wanted to give a try, now seems to the right time.

EDIT: More stuff there than I might have imagined. Shit, I just bought so many titles...I don't even if I ever will play them. lol

I ended up spending $84 over all. Got Bioshock, Id Super Pack, Dawn of War complete pack, Darwinia/Multiwinia pack, and Sid Meier's Pirates! Live the Life. I swear I'm addicted to these sales on steam. Even if I will never play the games I get I just have to buy them because they such great deals.

I've been telling everyone about the deal on BioShock, that's just amazing and insane to offer it at that price. Since I already own that game I picked up the GTA collection, Opposing Forces ($.99!), Blue Shift ($.99!), and Track Mania Nations United.

I think I'm gonna be picking up Bioshock, as well as the Half-Life Episodes 1& 2 pack.

Totally going to be awesome with my new speakers!  Now I just have to work on the pc part of it . . .

Hmmm, I keep trying to buy Bioshock for five smackers, but it errors out on me. Guess they ran out of bytes or something.

$4.99 is just about right for Bioshock. I rented it and turned it off half an hour later out of boredom. I have no idea why people were calling it GOTY 2007. Bioshock isn't even Game of the Day.

This seems to highlight the beauty of digital distribution quite nicely.

And unfortunately because of the Euro change most things are still 2 to 4 times the price of my local retailer. (Poland)

Picked up STALKER: Clear Sky (not very good), Bioshock (alright, but I don't get all the fuss) and the Unreal pack which is awesome.

£9 for STALKER.
£3 for Bioshock.
£12 for Unreal, Unreal 2, Unreal Tournament, Unreal Tournament 2004 and Unreal Tournament 3.

£24 for seven games! That's pretty good I'd say.
