Fourth Battlefield 1943 Map Unlocks On 360

Screw the guy who GOT the last kill. I wanna know who was the 43 millionth killed haha

It'd be cool if every map dlc came with one free map to be unlocked by getting a certain amount of kills on the downloaded levels.  You could drive raving fanboys to buying your content just for bragging rights.  There are some people who would buy and play it even if they hated the actual game.

This mode is real fun... Also an easy way of getting the Fighter Efficiency award. :D

After playing a few rounds with the map, I am a bit underwhelmed, but then again I am not a huge fan of airplanes and dogfighting. If you like that stuff, then this is definitely for you. I just find shooting down other planes with planes a bit janky.

Not flipping out, but it was pointless to put the Vs thing on the site. The 360 is seen as a console more associated with FPSs and has a larger install base. The PS3 was never gonna win so it just kinda seemed pointless to me.

You guys are looking at 43 000 000  kills. I see 43 000 000 deaths. What a bunch of n00bs!! :P

It's all fun until one side gets beat. Then the bitch-fest begins. And Bitch Fest would probably make a better movie than Beer Fest. Oh well, I'm gonna go dogfight.

Planes only map eh?  Too bad I'm rubbish in the planes. 

I have an Xbox360 for FPS games. And most of my box owning friends only play FPS games religiously. And that's a fact.  So yeah I agree with Mast.

Congrats to the 360 owners for getting that 43 million kills. But please...don't rub it in our faces. We're still working on ours.

It was all harmles fun :) - plus its pretty awesome that the dude that got the map unlock kill lives literally 15 minutes away from me

Great now I can wait even longer for planes to spawn. On a boat.
Too bad they didn't do something with the center island a la AA guns.

"Doesn't really bother me, i already knew this kind of thing played to the 360 install base more anyway. As you guys have already pointed out in past podcasts, there is a reason why games like Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts are released on the 360 at a discount price. Microsoft knows that most 360 users would rather play a FPS game, or sports games, then anything else. It's simply a different install base. One that is going to flock to this FPS contest like bees to honey.I don't think the same is true for PS3 owners. Most PS3 owners i know are busy creating levels in LittleBigPlanet, or anxiously awaiting games like Trine. They don't really go as crazy over FPS games. That, combined with the fact that the 360 has about 7 million more units sold, which isn't a ton more, but every bit helps.Overall, like you said, this was just good fun. For some reason, working towards that 43 mil kill point made me want to play this game more then any other FPS out there. Here's hoping that they do this again. Actually, it would be cool if they did this with every map they add to BF 1943 in the future."

Loving Coral Sea, I just wish I could figure out the flying to a point where if I start shooting I don't spiral out of control.

Yeah, I know a guy on a forum that was kind of flipping out about this whole map-unlocking thing... I thought it was funny.  He was on 360, too, so I don't know why he cared... he said he was angry because he had to wait for a map to unlock. >.<

That's great and all, but when are we unlocking Mars, goddammit?!?!?!  

Brilliant marketing scheme to fire up people and generate some extra sales out of a console war. Didn't fall for it myself, the game looks ok but Warhawk already fills this sort of niche for me. Starhawk can't be that far away either...
