I Just Keep Getting More Excited About DJ Hero

I hear you. You're out there whining about how your house is already filled to the brim with plastic guitars and that you're going to take a stand and not buy any more games with equipment. I get where you're coming from, but you're wrong. You know as well as I do that you're going to crack at some point and end up with a copy of DJ Hero, which is due out on October 27. Hey, it's only like $120, right? Surely you've spent more on rhythm games in the past.

And you know why you're going to be right there, alongside me, buying DJ Hero while simultaneously cursing yourself out for "letting it happen again?" These screenshots should pretty much tell the tale:

Uhhh I didn't really care about this game, but now I'm interested.

This game has gotten me excited about music games again.

11 tracks of Daft Punk might be worth it. Damn it, I thought DJ Hero would be filled with crappy hip hop. Must... resist... expensive plastic....instruments..... argh!

I so did not want to buy this, but now I'm really  compelled by the awesomeness of Daft Punk.  Ugh.  Please do a review on this one to let us know how it turns out.

I was already pretty sold on this before finding out Daft Punk was onboard. Very very cool. First comes the PS3 though...THEN DJ Hero. My living room already looks like a Best Buy threw up in an Ikea...one more giant controller won't make much difference really.

They've got a good thing going here - those *are* sweet screenshots.  I wonder where they will go from here?  I applaud the inclusion of Gary Numan!

I am still not the least bit tempted to get DJ Hero, but damn they look cool in those shots.  They need to be in more games.

Dammit Activision, you guys do so much that makes me hate you; but then you go around and pull this kind of stuff and I love it.  I was on the fence about DJ Hero before this, but if it's not a total failure I might get it when it goes down in price some.

No Jeff, I will not buy DJ Hero. I hope this game fails miserably and I hope Activision realise that they should start making less games with peripherals and stop ripping off consumers.

These screenshots here, and these two songs just made me tell my mom to not buy me whatever birthday present she was going to buy, and buy this

No Daft Punk vs. Midnight Brown, no sale. I've managed to not go crazy with my money and stay out of the music game scene and this won't change it thankfully.

Does anyone else find it weird to be playing a character that is virtually spinning records that mimics someone that spins records with pre-existing material on them that was made by someone else? It's like a copy of a copy of a copy. I find that too weird to be a part of. I also finding myself more and more wanting to just play real instruments and not fake ones that come in packages, whose bundles, rival the price tags of the REAL things. Does anyone else feel this way too? 
 
Just a side note...There ain't nothing like an 808....moneymakin'.

man...just when i thought this DJ Hero business was a joke, they just keep impressing me.
I love The Scratch Perverts, i love Daft Punk, and i loved DJ Shadow's earlier stuff.
Hell i may have to get this one as well...i'll still keep my eyes on the reviews first...but like jeff said, if it came with those helmets...sold; day one.

Music games aren't my thang

I don't even like hip-hop, but I like Guitar Hero/Rock Band and rhythm games in general enough to know DJ Hero'll be a damn good time. Picking it up for sure.

Still need convincing to be honest.
