OK, I'll be quick, because you already know what this is. This is the same old story of "local network affiliate talks to cops about video games, something stupid comes out."
KMIZ-TV out of Missouri ran "Wii Gamers Vulnerable To Crime" last week. It's the standard story of bad people wanting to do bad things to kids and how they're supposedly using video game hardware to make it happen.
The comedy comes in when Andy Anderson of the Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force pipes up with his views on Animal Crossing: City Folk, which is obviously, a pedophile's fantasy.
"There is no reason an adult should have this game," says Andy Anderson, Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force.
Anderson says adults playing "animal crossing" and similar games are likely doing it for the wrong reasons.
There you have it. Kotaku's Mike Fahey has more to say about this kind of sensationalistic junk, if you're interested. But one thing is crystal clear. If you're playing Animal Crossing and you're not a kid, then Mid-Missouri thinks you're one sick bastard. That said, I'm left with one question... what do Upper- and Lower-Missouri have to say on this hot-button issue?
Also, anyone out there want any "peaches?"
