Poll Will you be buying a Wii U for Bayonetta 2? (317 votes)

    Yes! 50%
    No way. 36%
    I'd rather buy a PS4 13%

It's only one game but the pain.... ugh the original bayonetta was such a phenomenal game and it pains me this is exclusive, don't want to miss out on this. Doesn't help that bloodborne is coming right around the corner....

I already got mine primarily for Bayonetta 2 about a year ago. The Wonderful 101, Rayman, Super Mario 3D World and Sonic (Yeah, I know how it turned out.) really helped that decision though.

Nope, I got a WiiU as soon as I could because it's a video game system.
A video game system made by Nintendo
Because I've had just about every Nintendo system since the NES and I probably always will.
    Because I must.

No. If and when I do end up buying a Wii U I'll totally play this game, but I don't know when that day will come.

There were a couple of games but Bayonetta was basically the main reason I bought a Wii U. Also the Tiger Direct had a good deal about a month ago so the timing was perfect.

Bought a Wii U a couple of weeks ago specifically for Bayonetta 2. Getting to play Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros., and all the Wii games I missed last generation are really nice bonuses, though!

I'll probably be buying a Wii U on Boxing Day with this and Super Mario 3D World. Already have W101.

I should be able to find a bundle with a game I want (preferably 3D World or Wind Waker HD) for ~150.

I already have a Wii U, so none of these poll options really fit me. I guess Yes is the closest since I bought one knowing one of the games I wanted to play was Bayonetta 2?

The thing is, we have plenty of good Wii U games by now. This doesn't have to be the only reason anymore, but it's certainly a hell of a reason.

I wouldn't recommend buying a system for one game. That being said, the Wii U doesn't JUST have Bayonetta. The Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, Donkey Kong Country, Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World - for me, that's enough to redeem a purchase. I got one last year, mostly because of 3D World and because I wanted to spend some money after cancelling my PS4 preorder because it didn't have enough interesting games at launch. Waiting a bit for a price cut wouldn't be the worst of ideas, but I don't see the price dropping below 200 for the black SKU anytime soon. Maybe in a year...and a half? Not sure, but the thing is worth $300 if you don't care whether the good games are Nintendo games or not, they're still good games. I do understand not being interested in NSMBU though. I have yet to buy that thing.

It's half the reason I bought one last year (the other being SMT x FE, whenever that comes out).

No. If Nintendo ports the game to the PC, I'll play it then. If not, there are plenty of other developers and publishers that support the PC. They will be getting my money and not Nintendo.

That console was a day one buy for me! Never regretted it.

I might be buying Bayonetta 2 if I get enough money for it, as all the raving reviews got me intrigued enough to want to look past the game's exaggerated eroticism, which always turned me off from the franchise. I just don't get why it's there, it seems exploitative and distasteful. Maybe I'm wrong - after this critical response, I actually want to find out.

Despite owning a Wii U I don't think there is a game out for it that would entice me enough to buy the system. I really like my Wii U and should start buying more games for it, including Bayonetta 2, but I don't see a single game system seller like we used to have for most platforms.

That said the Wii U does have an advantage. Having been out longer it should have a bigger, and presumably cheaper, catalog of games to buy. Not to mention a larger used game inventory. So really at the lower cost the Wii U is probably the easiest way to quickly get into the next step of gaming.

If Nintendo can keep up with games like Mario Kart and Smash alongside the Bayonetta 2s of the world, they could easily carve out a little niche and become the 2nd console choice. Having unique game experiences people want to play is a bigger seller than Netflix, cable access, or anything else imo.

I've done gamepad, touch controls, and pro controller, and I'd say pro controller felt the best, but all of them feel pretty viable.

Bayonetta 1 comes with every version of the game, and I think performance is on par with the 360 (I can't imagine it performing worse) but it has the additional Nintendo costumes (Peach, Daisy, Link, and Samus).

Considering Nintendo's console is region locked and not even released in Korea, nope. It would cost me upwards of $500 to get a WiiU and Bayonetta 2 in English here. Fuck Nintendo, get with the 21st century already!

The reasons for buying a Wii U are mounting up but I think I'll wait for that inevitable Zelda 2015/2016 bundle when it'll be about £150 (and then half a year later a Wii U revision and/or Wii U2 (with added Bono and The Edge)).

If you buy a Wii U for this game, you'll be surprised at how there are actually other great games you can get for the system. SSB is coming up, Mario Kart 8, 3D World, DKC Tropical Freeze, Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Zelda is next year, Xenoblade is next year, Wind Waker HD, Hyrule Warriors.
