It came to my attention from the fine folks at penny arcade that Dante's Inferno will have an achievement called "Bad Nanny" in which you must kill some number of babies. 
 
So...what's the Giant Bomb community view on killing babies?

I really dont understand why anyone would care. Its a video game, no one should care if you are killing babies, puppies, or human beings. Makes no difference to me.

They are unbaptized babies stuck in limbo, if I remember how they explained it correctly.    I will admit it will make me uncomfortable, but if a can handle the constant headshots in Persona 3, this shouldn't bother me greatly. Even if they butcher the plot, I will give them credit for sticking with source material for the most part. I'm not sure if unbaptized babies were mentioned at all, I've only read a small bit of the Inferno, but it sounds like they've got the setting and atmosphere down real good. "

Yeah.  In The Divine Comedy, unbaptized babies are depicted as being in limbo since they've committed no sin yet never received the chance to be baptized.  EA decided to put a weird twist on it by making the babies enemies to fight, though.  I really don't know what to feel about that, but then again my feelings for the game in general are pretty bad. We've killed evil babies before. Dead Space, Doom 3 (I think) and probably a whole bunch of other games, and I personally have nothing against killing evil babies in video games.

It's fiction. Therefore whatever happens in it is absolutely fine. Now if it was a videogame about a case that happened in the 1950's or something of a women going around skinning babies alive and you had to press B repeatedly to do it then that wouldn't be acceptable.

There was baby killing in Viscerals last game and no one got mad about it.

Sounds like they are desperate for some exposure for this game. This game seems like it's trying to be offensive and politically incorrect for the sake of... well, being offensive and politically incorrect.

I don't think it will offend a lot of people because it was in other games to and no one complained about those games.
