I can't wait for this GAME! I loved the first one so much, one of my favorites ever!

Dead Space 2 Announced
Wow, I already have my two games to get in winter 2010: Medal of Honor and Dead Space 2. Damn you EA :P
But this will be amazing. I'm looking forward to seeing what they will do for multiplayer, but I'll still buy it for the story :D
Meh... I think Deadspace is alright but I just can't see the pull it has with other's.
I'll call this a rental.... Sorry EA... :-/
Wow, I have acctually been thinking about this lately. I was just hoping that they would make a real sequel to this and not another stupid wii spinoff. I loved the first game, but I am kinda concerned with the direction they are taking with the sequel. Granted we havent seen anything about it thusfar, but the things they are saying about Issac being more in control seems kinda out of place considering that was one of the good things about the first one, that you were placed into a situation where you were not in control. I'm not really sure if having Issac be the main character again is a good idea. Honestly I just hope that it turns out to be much scarier and longer than the first, and possibly less scripted.
*crosses fingers and hopes that the people at Visceral have Event Horizon, The Thing, and every other good Sci-Fi horror film on repeat in the background whilst they work*
Considering that this team also made Dante's Inferno, and that game must surely be about completed this close to release, it makes sense that they are moving on to their next project.
This sequel coming in after 2 years since the original plus it having a multiplayer has all the hallmarks of a Bioshock 2 written all over it, i hope EA with their new focus can make this game NOT go OTT. Dead Space was pretty minimal in it's approach with nothing else clouding the games atmosphere and design, which is why it's highly regarded. hope EA use the same method...
Dead Space 2. YES! This time I'll play through the game using more than just my pistol too. I only borrowed the game from a friend and I didn't think I'd get to keep it long enough to play through it more than once and I wanted that pistol achievement One Gun... so I played through on Hard with only my pistol as my only play through, something I am quite proud of :D I thought setting it on Hard would give me an achievement but it didn't... I wanted to play again on Impossible, but I gave the game back before I even started down that road...
Survival isn't the only thing on Isaac's mind inDead Space 2 – this time, he calls the shots. This may be referring to something that I found annoying as hell in the first game. 95% of the gameplay was people telling you what to do:
"HEY ISAAC, THE THINGY IS BROKEN, GO THERE AND FIX IT. WHOOPS, THAT BROKE SOMETHING ELSE. GO AND FIX THAT NOW. OH HEY, GUESS WHAT BROKE NOW..."
I interpret the press release to mean that this time Isaac is making his own decisions and not having orders barked into his helmet. Looking forward to finding out exactly what happened at the end of the first one.

First game was the best survival horror game of the current gen as far as I'm concerned. More of that is awesome =]
They also shouldn't waste their time with a multiplayer mode that will likely be terrible anyway.
" "only moreso" doesn't mean anything! stop using it everywhere Ryan! "You're talking about the dude who says things like "Scratch sounds like it's more hip hop orienfestated".

Well.. I didn't necessarily want a sequel to Dead Space, as I thought it was nicely wrapped up, even with the cliffhanger ending..
..but dude, I'll play whatever Visceral Games throws at me.
The first one was absolutely phenomenal (I am safely assured in this opinion, having played through it three times), and I expect nothing less from #2.

Oh, and this.
Heh, I just finished Dead Space, such a good game. I started my second run right after I finished my first.
Ugh... now I feel bad for still not finishing Dead Space. I have loved the whole thing. I just got distracted. =P
I loved the first one and I hope they don't just play off the success of it by making the second one too similar or making the story cheesy. Of all the games with sequels coming out, for some reason I am worried about this one the most. Probably because this one is one of my favorite games from the past few years and I want the second one to be even better. I really hope this game turns out to be amazing, I'll cross my fingers.

i was hoping for a new protagonist.
hmmm...
i loved this game, it was my goty.
but uhh..... multiplayer better be some kind of horde mode.
and with the awesome hud solution they came up with, i could see squad stuff working well but i doubt thats what is going on. they need to make scarier. being alone is the scariest thing.
Great news, the first one was very enjoyable. I hope they really take their time and creates environments that can retain the claustrophobic feel from the first game, but still feel fresh. Something like a large botanical biodome complex that combines indoor and outdoor on a larger scale then first game, to break up the corridor crawling. Imagine fighting those necromorphs in a overgrown botanical garden.. in space!
Extraction was polished to a ridiculous degree in terms of visuals, interactivity, storytelling, sound design, voice acting, gunplay, atmosphere, immersion, variety..." yay a half assed sequel which stains the original. As if that half assed wii spin off wasnt bad enough "
But go on, keep on hating blindly.
It may be on rails (though less so than you might think), but those rails are a masterpiece.
Im not hyped for this one, 1st one was absolutely awesome, no way they are going to make the 2nd any better
