Elena Fisher

Overview

Elena Fisher is one of the main characters in Naughty Dog's third-person action game Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. She is a journalist who accompanies the main character, Nathan Drake who is a descendant of the great explorer Sir Francis Drake, as he searches for his ancestors coffin which was buried at sea.

Actress Emily Rose provided all motion capture animations as well as English-voice dialog for the character of Elena Fisher. The character was also mapped around her likeness. After Uncharted, she has gone on to appear in a few episodes of " Jericho" as well as guest appearances in "Cold Case" and " Without A Trace."

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

She is hoping to make a good news story out of Drake's quest for Sir Francis Drakes coffin, but when they locate the coffin and pull it up from under the sea they find that there is no body in it, instead there is a small journal that belonged to Francis detailing his search for 'El Dorado' an Incan statue bigger than a man and made of solid gold.

Their search takes them to an abandoned Spanish colony on a small island off South America. Drake and Elena decide to follow the instructions in Francis' journal in the hope of finding El Dorado. Over the course of the game Elena and Drake begin to fall in love and become slightly awkward around one another. As their search for El Dorado progresses they discover that Francis Drake was not trying to get El Dorado off the island but rather to keep it on the island. Nathan and Elena find out that there is a terrible curse on the treasure and that it destroyed the entire Spanish colony and turned all the Spaniards into monsters. Nathan and Elena then try to stop Navarro and Gabriel Roman, who are two men who are also looking for the treasure but with the intent of taking it off the island and using it's terrible curse as a terrorist weapon, from taking El Dorado off the island.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Elena returns in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, appearing in the war-torn town of Katmandu as a journalist. She and her cameraman Jeff accompany Drake and Chloe Frazer as they uncover the secrets of Katmandu's temples. Elena befriends Karl Shafer in a Tibetan village and helps nurse Drake back to health. When the village is attacked and Shafer taken to an abandoned Monastery, Elena accompanies Drake in the rescue. Mourning Shafer, the duo find the entrance to Shambhala. When they discover that the sap of the Tree of Life has given immortality to the Guardians, Harry Flynn appears and commits suicide, exploding a grenade near to Elena and injuring her. With the help of the Tibetan villagers, she lives. Elena and Drake share jokes and a kiss as they celebrate the life of Karl Shafer and the destruction of evil.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

In the third iteration of the series, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, Elena is a journalist in Yemen, a role she has taken to by learning the customs and prejudices of the land. She gives Drake and Sully access to Yemen where the trio find a hidden temple in Drake's quest to follow Sir Francis Drake's trail to Iram of the Pillars. Elena wears a ring on her wedding finger that indicates she and Drake either married or were engaged. Drake no longer has his ring. Elena is frustrated with Drake's love of adventure over her and his own safety. Still, out of love, she helps him, when he comes bedraggled to her hotel in Yemen, to secure passage on a cargo plane heading toward Oman and the city of Iram. Upon Drake's successful destruction of evil, Elena meets him, Sully reveals that he still has Drake's marriage/engagement ring, and the couple find peace.
