Does The Sequel Make Good On All The Promises? 0

The first Fable, released on the original Xbox, was an action-RPG with life-simulator influences. The player took control of a young boy who, through the player's interactions with the world, could be morphed in to whatever the player wished. Well, in concept anyway. The life-simulator elements were shallow and the action-RPG elements didn't fare much better. The game had charm but lacked quality. The most notable aspect about the original Fable was the game's director Peter Molyneux's 'fables'....

Jump down the Rabbit Hole 0

Fable 2, in a word, is magical. Peter Molyneux's ( and Lionhead Studios ) Albion is a trip down the Rabbit Hole to Alice's Wonderland, well, at least the Wonderland the creator intended before Disney snatched it up and drizzled sickly sweet sacrine all over it. Prepare to be transported to a world gone mad, whether it be the deranged ravings of a duo of momma's boys incanting arcane formulae to call forth extra-dimensional beings from twisted spheres, the Scottish Brogue mockings of cynical garg...

    Instant Classic 2

I have yet to complete the story mode, but i've played the story for about 2-3 hours and already have fallen in love with it.  The graphics aren't anything to brag about and are certainly no Gears of War but the level of addiction, vibrant colors, and the feeling that makes you connected to the game is really quite incredible.  The bump mapping and shadowing are fantastic and the weather 'graphics' (or whatever you wish to call what the weather looks like) are incredible.  To sum up, this game h...

Fable 2 Is Fun But Not GREAT!!! 1

I thought that the game itself was a little to easy and that it was not as good as I expected of Molyneux. The gameplay is good but nothing really special and the weapons are cool, but the lack of armor and a really great combat system I dont think it was as good as the first one was for its time. The combat for me was a little bit cool but not as good as I would have expected. After playing this game I realized that it gives you gamerpoints practiclly for free! The interaction is not the best a...

Great game... but not the Greatest. 0

Well, It Finally Came out after my Year(s) of waiting, Fable 2 was More or less everything i had hoped for To be completely honest. It managed to capture most of what made Fable 1 great and actually made you feel like your choices meant something in the world. Tha being said, It was a tad glitchy and felt a bit too Mechanic. The Biggest improvement to me was the choice you had to make, In Fable 1 and most of the "Choose your alignment" Rpgs that practically litter the streets now adays, they fel...

Entertaining sequel mixing humour, combat and morality decisions 1

I can’t deny that this game is probably one of the top rated Action-RPGs to date & you’ve probably heard about all the new features, bells and whistles the game has to offer. As a result it delivers as promised but with standards being pushed higher and higher there are a number of issues that might irritate some. While trying to keep originality in the story the moral choices you are beset upon sometimes make it feel like you’re reading a “Choose Your Own Adventure” book, giving the format...

Fable II is incredibly addictive and better than the first Fable. 0

This game is friggin addictive! It's tons better than the first game and really fun. I couldn't stop playing it cuz there are soooo many sidequests. I didn't even complete them all when I finished the main quest. The graphics are uber gorgeous. While the character models could've been more detailed, the world looks amazing. I was especially impressed by the art direction and lighting. I found myself sometimes stopping to stare at the beautiful locations. The colors really pop and the world is jus...

    Hero? 0

When Fable 2 was first announced I had no interest in the game until I began to talk to one of my friends who was a Fable obsessive. Anyway the first game sounded like a lot of fun and as I looked at Fable 2 I decided I was going to take a bit of a gamble and give it a try.Fable 2 starts you out as little boy who just seems to be called little sparrow either way you start out with a few small quests that not only introduce you to the world but also help you shape it in some pretty drastic ways. ...

    Fable II Review 0

Okay, so for a long time, I have been anxiously waiting for a sequel to Fable. I cannot begin to tell you the joy I had with the first game. Sure a bunch of people were dissapointed because it didn't make good on all of the promises that Peter had made but it was still a fun game with some intuitive ideas and a decent story to boot. Well, Fable II has finally arrived and for the most part, its what I expected however, there were a couple of things about the game that I just couldn't seem to get ...

Fable II is a midly enjoyable, albeit artificial feeling game. 0

After years in production, Peter Molyneux's piece, Fable II, is finally upon us on the Xbox 360. Following a similar mold from its 2004 predecessor, Fable II introduces new features and improves upon what the former game built, but in the end, it feels overly artificial and irrelevant. Five hundred years after the events of Fable, Albion - the fantasy world that both games take place - has gone through radical changes. These resulted from the dissolution of the Heroes' Guild, after the Heroes b...

    Fable II is good 0

To review a Peter Molyneux game without mentioning his penchant for outlandish promises and how the game in question doesn't live up to them is heresy. Thankfully, Mr. Molyneux' promises were relatively benign this time around, focusing mainly on gameplay aspects and most of them came true.Fable II continues in the same world (Albion) as Fable I, only several hundred years later, leaving the swords & sorcery Medieval setting behind for a more 18th century feel. This makes for a slightly more...

    Fable 2 is ok... 0

For anyone perhaps thinking about buying Fable 2 and taking a look at this review, I would urge you to pay closer attention to my review than the score I assigned the game. Please read this less in the context of a review than as a list of things I personally liked or disliked about Fable 2, and why. I accept that this is purely my opinion, and that others may very well love the things I hated.I played Fable 2 for about 20 hours and then gave up, feeling no urge whatsoever to once more enter Alb...

    An Able Fable 0

After years of cooking, Lionhead's latest work is upon us. Fable II has been a highly anticipated title for quite some time, and while it does have its faults and finds inconsistencies - Fable delivers.Just a quick note; the hype machine was out of control during the month of October promoting Fable II. I was very glad when the game finally released and the foaming had ceased. Overhyping a game only raises standards to unrealistic levels - and very few games can reach expectations once the gamin...

    Fable 2, A lot of fun 0

Before I start my review I just want to say that I have never played Fable 1, or Fable as it was called before this game. I never even sniffed that game. I will say my brother beat it and loved it, but to me it seemed like an RPG for kids and I didn't want any part of that. It seemed too campy, too linear to be a true RPG. The truth about Fable 2 is that the game is far from perfect, but there is something addicting about it.  This game just gets a hold of you and it doesn't let go until the en...

    Once Upon A Console... 0

The first Fable was a game I had severely mixed feelings about.  Playing the game about three years following its initial release certainly didn't help matters, but just something about it felt very... bleh.  I certainly was excited of the eventual culmination of the various choices in the game, but sadly it could not emerce me enough to actually REACH that culmination.  I feared it would be the same with Lionhead Studio's sequel, Fable II.  Despite my preconceptions and some speed bumps along t...

Fable 2 is a solid RPG on the Xbox 360 0

You know I expected more out of Fable 2’s story than what I got out of it.  Many games these days are like movies you watch and don’t remember the story a week later.  Fable 2’s story was like this.  It was very generic and didn’t capture me like I was expecting it to.  It wasn’t a bad story, but it was weak and short.  In fact, I’ve already forgotten most of it. Now that I’ve ranted about the story, let me talk about the rest of the game.  I loved the combat and the use of magic.  The combat m...

Albion and On and On 0

I'll be honest, I never got around to playing the first Fable so I was very quick to find a disconnect when playing Fable II. There was a lot of talk about old guilds and lands that I had no real idea of, and I mention that only because I'm saying that I have no prior Fable experience to base this on. That in mind... Wow. I wasn't sure what to expect, and was less sure when a bird craps on my character in the opening cinematic. What I ended up with far exceeded my expectations, or was at leas...

    Burnt steak. 0

If I were composing this review in conjunction with the first play-through of the game my initial gasp of excitement would have led to a more positive review. After accruing around 750 gamer points however the bland story and ol' Pete's temerity once again have let me down. The charismatic leader of Lionhead Studios has jobbed us all once again to deliver unto us a merely mediocre action adventure with clever viral videos and hyperbole. I admit to being quite excited about this next installment ...

    Fable II--Review 0

I never played much of the original Fable.  But I did get a basic idea of what the game is about.  When I started playing Fable II, it felt like I was playing the same game.  From a technical standpoint, the game has made advancements, but overall it doesn't feel like an Xbox 360 title to me.  It feels like I'm playing an original Xbox game.  That's where I have my biggest hang up with Fable II.  As long as it took them to make the sequel, you would think they would have done more to expand the ...

Molyneux's talks the talk but skips the walk 1

Be you're own hero, craft you're own story, hide your disappointment. Peter Molyneux is going to wake up tarred and feathered one of these days. The creator of Populus, Black and White and of course, Fable, has a reputation of promising great features but failing to deliver. So when Fable II was announced to the world, some were wary to jump on the band-wagon. They had been burned by Fable I and Black and White II, so could they really trust Molyneux this time?In terms of what Fable II is, ...

    Journey Back To Albion 0

Fable II Improves on all aspects of the original game.+Well Done Main Quest line+ Same great atmosphere as the original game+ More of Albion to explore+ Character interaction and Co-op play+ Simple yet fun Combat System- Lenghty load times. To shorten this, Install to hard drive- Can't be Unique Character in Co-op. Also must stay together on one screen even on Xbox Live- Few technical problems here and there. - Shorter main quest than other Rpg`sFable II is set 500 years after the original. Ever...

great game, but easily could have been amazing 0

Fable 2 i thought was a good game but could have been a lot better with some minor adjustments.    The story was mildly entertaining and although the game is centered around it the real meat of the game comes from the side quests and jobs that define who your character is as a person. While being entertaining the story could have used some serious work, nothing too complicated, maybe some boss battles or something. I never really felt like i was ever being challenged especially when there is har...

It Needs to Cook a Little More 0

It Needs to Cook a Little Bit More WA Julian Fable 2 is a lot like a batch of your mom’s chocolate chip cookies. You love these cookies, they’re really good. The ingredients are all well-done and it’s a perfect mix of goodness. Except this time, your mom was in a hurry and she didn’t bake the cookies long enough. Yeah, sure it tastes good and it’s still a very good cookie but mom… WTF?!?! So, Fable 2 really does have some great ingredients. Considering this is an RPG, we should first hit on the ...

All the glitches in Fable II don't stop it from being really fun 0

Fable II is an RPG from Lionhead. The Fable franchise is quite known for being one of the few RPGs on Xbox, although that has changed on the Xbox 360. Another reason for its fame is its creator, Peter Molyneux. Molyneux promised alot when he was making the first Fable, but many felt he failed to deliver in the end. However, I feel that the new Fable is right on the money.Molyneux claimed to have made one of the best video game stories of all time, but that is hardly true. The story isAlbion seem...

Molyneux puts the money where his mouth is in this sequel. 0

Peter Molyneux is probably one of the most over-zealous hype masters to ever walk in the spotlight of the games industry, generally attempting to offer the world on something as small as a disc for the price of a video game, and never generally coming close to producing the vision he had been injecting into the brains of consumers for years.  This time--utilizing a little self-control and--he seems to have gotten things just right. Fable II is a very well designed, very charming game that player...

    Better Than the First 0

When I picked up Fable 2 I wasn't expecting it to completely destroy the origignal Fable. Like huge RPGs before it the sequel's story and main quest pales in comperision to the original's. To my surprise Fable 2's story had everything the first one lacked. It had characters you actually cared about, a vendetta, and a story you could actually follow (to this day I still don't really understand a lot of what was happening in Fable).Doing jobs in Fable 2 honestly sounded and looked pretty boring. I never played the first Fable to be honest with you but when I started playing this game I got so hooked I was amazed, you see I'm one of those people who buys a ton of games but due to life I never get around to finishing them. Fable 2 A Great Simulated World. 0

The Most stand out feature with fable is that the world was really well simulated.  From NPCs behaviors and dispositions, to the economy of the world.  The NPCs aren't as scripted like characters in other RPGs.  They react to you more like the people in "Sims."   If your liked enough, have a guard or villager "follow" you and help you on your quest.  The Economy was unbelievable as well.  You can buy everything and make money from it.  Decide what to charge for goods, and how much to charge for ...

The World Of Fable 2 is a vast, charming and stunning achievement. It’s interesting how something that can seem so right in theory, so immaculately constructed, can manage to fall flat on its face when set into motion. I remember first hearing of Peter Molyneux and his game Fable, and thinking to myself how wholly wonderful this game was going to be. As an aspiring game designer – yes, I once dreamed of spearheading my own games, but that is not a story for here nor now – I couldn’t help but feel that Peter and I were altogether on the same page; here was a man...
