Honestly, this podcast is kinda boring. They are going from topic to topic, and nothing really memorable from each. There are also few funny things in there.
What I would give for a Bombcast with Shawn Elliot.

Haven't listened yet, but I just want to say that yours and the 1up crews podcasts are the best produced podcasts on the net. Everyone else seems to chew pants at encoding a damn mp3 properly. It's not f'n complicated, people! LAME -b 64 -h --lowpass 12000 --resample 44100 or at least remember to lowpass at 12khz in garage band or whatever the hell you people are using to make these things. Human speech doesn't produce any sound that conveys information above about 8khz, if you're running an unfiltered signal at 64kbs it's going to sound like ASS.
I know that's random, but whatever. Props to whoever presses the "don't fuck this shit up" button.
Now I love the Giantbomb podcast. And I love the 1up yours podcasts. Those are undeniably my 2 favorite podcasts on the web bar non. BUT listening through this amalgamation of the two podcasts, I can clearly rejoice my love of Giantbomb pocdcasts above all others. I don't know what it is, but just listening to 2 of the giantbomb cast podcasters as the end of hte 1up yours podcast felt like you guys totally overshadowed the regular 1up yours cast by a mile. Everything said by the 2 of you felt more coherent, logical, and tempered than the 1up yours regulars. Now granted, part of the reason I love 1up yours is because they' will say stuff that that comes ot their mind at that mioment, whereas the giantbomb crew seems to think through their answers more clearly. But when the two different styles go up and up with each other, if just really illustrates the strength of actually THINKING THROUGH what you have to say before you actually say it. Bravo.
This makes it great that you guys formed Giant Bomb. You can actually do things like guest spotting on other sites as just being the journalists you are, and give that back to the GB community regardless coming from "competitive" sites. I'm being all Giant Bomb fanboy again, but I'm ok with that.
I enjoy the 1up show video every Friday, but since GB came around I slowly faded away from listening to the 1up and Hotspot podcasts. The GB crew represents pretty much what I feel as a gamer. I however know I shouldn't really get my POV from only one source, so this helps me remind me of crews that also have been gaming forever now. The 1up crew is just a little bitchy, maybe a little jaded, but Broken Pixels is an awesome feature.
I've been into listening to the 1up cast here and there, but stopped once the GB crew came about. There's nothing wrong with the 1up crew, but I did after the first five minutes of this cast fast forwarding to the GB intro Its nice to hear they wanted to make sure they played Valkyria and Yakuza 2, but shit damn most reviewers need to, but CANT focus on these games.
Still Goddam these 1up people are just a pinch of pretentious at first, but somehow Jeff stays real and somehow thwarts any preconceived expectations. Its funny when people try to stay professional and proper and end up getting their ideals re-evaluated. It is funny that when people are thinking that when Jeff is on the podcast it will be a stoic and political discussion and realise he is an open and honest gamer, and then actually having a good time.
I will listen to the podcast only because the Giantbomb guys are on but I got turned off the 1UP podcast a LONG time ago and Garnett Lee is one of the biggest reasons why. Maybe they have improved since I was listening to them (about a year ago) but at that time all of their reviews were predictable regardless of whether the game was good or not.
Great appearance on the 1upshow. You guys came in with "The Hilarious Truth". J-Gerst, great idea about the 2-hour VGAs with the online component. Ryan also did a good job discussing the Hollywood side of the VGAs. Brad, I didn't Brad too much but I was pulling double duty while playing Army of Two, yeah, I know. Anyway, I'd like to see you guys proliferate out in the podcasting atmosphere more. Great stuff and Merry Christmas.

I love the IGN podcasts, they just sound like normal, not super geeked out dudes. They're really funny too if you've been listening to them for a while.
Listening to the podcast I almost died thanks to the spillage of a drink and the reaction of John :D made me laugh my ass off. Thanks Jeff for the comic relief :D

On a related note, I think too many people on this website are blindly in love with Jeff Gerstmann. I guess it comes with the territory, but some people are being a bit pretentious here.

Jeff is awesome, though. But so is 1UP Yours. The combination should be mind blowing, but the episode seemed rushed.
Fun fact: This was not the first 1UP Yours that Brad was on.
