With even the mighty Activision jumping on the bandwagon of 2009's hottest trend, Releasing Your 2009 Games In 2010, some people were wondering what might be going on with Bizarre Creations' new racer Blur. I've seen some message board chatter about the fate of the game's release date, what with higher profile games like StarCraft II sliding into next year.
There hasn't been a lot of buzz or info floating around about Blur for the last few weeks, since its appearance at E3, but Shacknews did notice in a company conference call that the game is in fact still slated for a November release date. While we're talking about Blur, retailers like Best Buy, GameStop, and GameCrazy are now taking part in 2009's crappiest trend, Exclusive Bonus Game Content When You Pay Us For The Game Early. Hit up the Shack story for that list.
And if you've forgotten what Blur looks like, here's a reminder!

I mistakenly chose Geography at GCSE, and the dude I used to sit next to sang that song to me nearly every lesson without fail, always made me giggle.
And also it looks like it's just taken Midnight club further.
I would have rather Bizarre Creations make PGR 5. Im not a fan of car combat games so this doesn't really appeal to me. I hope that they move on from this game and make PGR 5 rather than Blur 2
According to activision, its " Mario Kart meets Forza "" @Hector said:
" Burnout meets Mario Kart? "No, more like Burnout meets WipEout. "
Their is a part about 4/5 of the way through that trailer where this red sports car gets hit with an electric thing and spins out, spending him from first place to seemingly last. That is the part which destroyed any interest in this game I might have had because I knew that if I was that red car I would be raging right about then.
Perhaps it will be good, in fact I hope it will be, but weapons in racers adds a random luck element which just doesn't gel right with me.
" This is bad news...Forza 3 and GT5 are due out in 2009. If anything, this game should've gotten pushed back to even have a remote chance of doing well. "U know I see a lot of dudes talking about Gt5 coming out this year but isnt it a little late to be announcing a game's release date to be this year? I know Tokyo Game Show but I mean I cant wrap my head around them announcing the release date of a huge blockbuster game and then coming out 2-3 months later...
Just to counteract some of the negativity in these comments, I think it looks cool and it going to be a lot of fun. Not every racer has to worship at the altar of realism and minute technicality. If its just Wipeout with real cars and physics enabled powerups, it'll be worth checking out. There's space enough in the market for everyone to get their motor-related kicks.
I'm realy not getting the negative comments on this one. Yes its not a realistic racer, not every car game has to be. I'm pretty exited about this one it looks really fun and so far Bizarre Creations have shown themselves to be a good developer when it comes to having fun with cars. It could turn out to be a terrible game but for now I'm going to say it looks really fun.
