Do you use headphones when playing? For those of you who do not have surround sound or like to blast the sound without disturbing anyone in your house. I do because I think I can appreciate the sound and music of the game and it provides a better experience.
I have been playing Bioshock 2 late at night with the sound blasting, I recommend it.
Do you use headphones?
No, i only use the XBOX headset for MW2 and the likes.
But for Bioshock 2 I'd probably be scared shitless of splicers. If one of my family members came up behind me and tapped me on the shoulder at night, and i didn't hear them coming in because of headphones, I'd probably have a heart attack.
I used headphones when I was playing Dead Space, it was pretty awesome.
But normally I don't use headphones unless I want to play Rock Band at 3:00am or something like that.
I am going to invest in some as I mostly play at night when my girlfriend is asleep so my volume is all the way down so I don't wake her. Headphones seem like a good idea. What is a good, moderately priced brand that people can recommend?
Only on my Computer because I use a laptop so the sound sucks without them. If I'm playing a console though I just let it come through the tv.
I have a pair of AX360s that I use for my PC and Xbox they kick serious ass

I don't have any (except some earphones for casual listening), but I'm considering seriously investing in either an Astro Gaming pair (that shit be sick!) or a slightly less expensive Triton or Turtle Beach headset.
I would probably never take mine off if my head weren't massive and my ears so prone to getting sore. Even the heartiest of earcups can make my delicate ears cry after six hours.
As of right now I've just got a pair of Razer Charcharias. They've got pretty good sound for mid-range headphones. I'd kill for some atmospheric ones though.
Late at night when everybody is asleep I use my headphones. During the morning/day I do not. One exception though is in multiplayer online games- for that I use my headphones to hear the footsteps of the enemies.
Agree with the op, it definitely makes the experience better, especially in a game like Bioshock where atmosphere is key.
