Bionic Commando PC (June 2)
inFamous (June 2)
Prototype (June 9)

I bet some people disagree but when somewhat similar games like infamous and prototype get released in the same time frame, that's when Metacritic is really the one that is going to be deciding what I am going to buy.

im excited for inFamous because its been getting a lot of positive feedbacks from critics so far. i think it will also get a higher metacritic score than Prototype, but thats just my prediction.

Seems like a lot is coming this June. Prototype, Ghostbusters, Batman: Arkham Asylum, inFamous, Damnation, Bionic Commando, etc. Busy month! Especially when E3 is the month before all of this...

Youve all forgot red faction

#5 Posted by NormanOfTorn (43 posts) -

Red Faction Guerrilla and The Conduit look pretty cool.  They are also coming out in June, and yeah a bunch of good looking games are coming out in June.

#6 Posted by HT101 (1151 posts) -

Ghostbusters and Batman are the two games that I am really excited about.  The others I am on a scale from meh to hell no.

This is the only time I will let Metacritic tell me what game to buy...

Acutally, I should just buy them both.

Infamous has been moved up to may now. But yeah it still is a pretty packed June.

#9 Posted by jmr1500 (44 posts) -

Hella pumped for Batman. Might even buy the $100 collector's edition....

Nah they're an easy 2 games to differ, Prototype blows Infamous away with no competition for me.  I know INF is in may now though, but I'm mostly looking forward to Bionic Commando, Red Faction Guerilla, and Batman Arkham Asylum atm.

Batman is all I really care about that's coming out in June.

Well, I take you are a 360 owner, therefore the "blows away" comment that is completely unfounded because there's no way you can tell.

Infamous seems to have more depth to the story and seems to provide more variety to the gameplay. So the open-world/gameplay/story is its focus. Prototype seems to be a dumb and linear game, with repetitive gameplay. It may appeal to ADD kids who can't keep focused for more than a few seconds, that think destroying things just for the sake of destroying them and graphical mayhem is good.

For anybody that ows a PS3, there's no question which game you should buy. First party Sony software is always superior to anything else, third party either on PS3 or 360. So your choice basically is between a great game well crafted and built for the PS3 from the ground up, therefore taking advantage of the platform, or another crappy port of a half-assed game.

Infamous = software especially built for the PS3, taking advantage of the platform, with excellent gameplay and depth to the story;.
Prototype = a dumb and linear game that will be crappily ported to the PS3, whose main attraction seems to be the mayhem you can cause

First party software is always better.

Nooo batman got delayed :'(

And then there's The Sims 3... that's gonna be a monster.

Dude, people might start believing you are attracted to me or something.

Where did I lie? Aren't first party or exclusive games for the PS3 the best in that platform and the only ones that seem to explore the potential of that machine?
#22 Posted by IVIorpheus (206 posts) -

I'm very exited about Prototype. I already have it preordered....

#23 Posted by AustinJ (99 posts) -

I want Ghostbusters and (even though it could be terrible) the new Call of Juarez.

Prototype will be great...

BUT OVERLORD 2 IS GONNA BE AWESOME!

I'm not attracted to anyone, I just happen to be very a very active member of the site.

I wouldn't necessarily say that first-party games on Sony platforms are better than other games. They're usually very good, yes, but third-party developers do great work too. It's irrelevant to me whether a game uses all of a system's "potential", as long as the game is fun. And both Prototype and Infamous look to be solid games.

Wonder which super hero tital will win out: Batman or Infamous, either way we win.

#28 Posted by CenturionCajun (1461 posts) -

Batman has been postponed until the "End of Summer".

You guys are all forgetting this.

But seriously, the only game I'm looking forward to in June in Red Faction.

Conduit.

I dont think thats necessarily true I mean they might take advantage of the hardware a little more, but I think that this gen has gone beyond just graphical prowess (at least in my opinon).  Dont get me wrong I think Infamous is gonna be good, I am just side with Prototype because it has more of what I would like in sandbox game,  fast action mixed with some stealth and crazy acrobatics.  At the same time I am aware Infamous will probably have a better story and city.

Fight Night: Round 4 is out on the 30th, and since the delay of Batman, is looking to be my most anticipated title of the month.

It is always true. I want to see what this machine is capable of and not to play some limited crappy version of a game just because the other platform, the 360, can't handle it. Killzone 2 is evidence of that. All multiplatform games mysteriously are kept under 8 GB (why would that be?) for example, among other limitations.

Infamous was built for the PS3 from the ground up, it is another evidence of the quality we can expect.
#34 Posted by LordAndrew (14424 posts) -

Hardware limitations do not make a game bad. Being a bad game makes a game bad.
Sometimes games are restricted by the system they're on (Shadow of the Colossus), but most of the time they still manage to be fun (and in the case of Shadow of the Colossus, amazing) regardless.

I think Prototype will do better because I want InFamous to be better and I have horrible luck

It doesn't matter what sells, it matters what you enjoy.

But all the early previews suggest inFamous is far more polished. Watch this weeks Invisible Walls for another glowing inFamous endorsement.

Hype train still hasn't hit for the game though. Doubt it will.

As I don't have a PS3 I'm probably going to get Prototype even though from what I've seen so far inFamous looks better.

I'd say there is never a time to use metacritic as your main source of a decision to buy games. Its all numbers still. You still need the substance from reviews and whether or not you like the reviewer.

Well I'm really looking forward to Red Faction: Guerilla and the Sims 3, I'm rather excited.
I can't stop playing the demo for Red Faction, Bionic Commando also looks cool :D

And Metacritic can provide that substance by providing links to those reviews.
