I don't have ten, I'm not the biggest FPS guy. But my favorite pure "FPS" would have to be Halo: Combat Evolved.
Kush has really good taste :P, I would be thinking too long(even though some of his list would definitely be on there) of a specific 10 so I'll keep working on it.

lol, well thanks. It took me a while to pick 10 and there were plenty they got left off the list, but there are just too many good shooters out there. ...and @Meowayne: They don't have to be just SP FPS games. Is Unreal Tournament a franchise known for it's SP?
I can't name any more FPS that I have played right now, I don't play alot. Halo 3 and COD4 don't get to be put on that list, because I don't think they are that great. I knew I couldn't name 10, I have not played the original Half-Life, sadly. I definitely know I'm missing one or two more.

Thats what I like about Metroid Prime. Its so much of everything and all the games in the series do all of that well. Id consider it an fps though , primarily cause it is.
Half life Half life 2 Wolfenstein 3D(for really popularizing the genre into what it is) Quake System shock 2 Deus Ex UT(not sure which favorite, just not 3) Counterstrike Team Fortress Red Faction(on PC..multiplayer was awesome)

Halo 3 Aliens vs Predator 2 Duke Nukem 3D Perfect Dark Quake 3 Far Cry: Instincts Deus Ex Half Life 2 Blood And I know it's a mod, but screw you I'm putting it there - The Specialists. I'm fully aware it's playable in third person too. If theres an issue with that then double screw you! Specialists is sweet.
