What is your favorite game that no one else plays?
Though I haven't played it in a while, no one I know seems to think it's worth playing, even if only once. And it's only a 5 dollar game on Steam.
Obscure, being the obvious choice.
Fahrenheit(Indigo Prophecy, to some)
I've never heard that many people talk about it besides a few of my friends and some random jobber agreeing with me on a forum, but that's about it.
And now everyone is all hyped for Heavy Rain, which is being made by the same guys and now all of a sudden they know "everything" about Fahrenheit because they read about it on wikipedia.
But only 2 people I know besides myself has actually beaten the game and gotten all the different endings, and enjoyed the heck out of the game from beginning to the end.
" DRIV3R or Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore. "Those were the days. I remember playing DRIV3R all the time.
For me I would say Dog's Life. I didn't love the game but I did have some fun with it.
" @AjayRaz said:FINALLY! someone else who loved DRIV3R!" DRIV3R or Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore. "Those were the days. I remember playing DRIV3R all the time.
" @Sincillian said:A rare find aint it." @AjayRaz said:FINALLY! someone else who loved DRIV3R! "" DRIV3R or Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore. "Those were the days. I remember playing DRIV3R all the time.
I really loved Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, but nobody else seemed to like it or even be interested in it. Same goes for Outrun for XBLA.
" DRIV3R or Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore. "Maybe because both of those are awful games.
Anyway, Dynamite Headdy.
No, it sucks. If it played well, I wouldn't give a shit, but its awful. I'd rather play Tattoo Assassins. There isn't a single game series I hate more. The developer is an egotistical prick as well. But hey, if you like it- good for you. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole." @MysteriousBob: i'm sure you're saying Dead or Alive 2 is awful because of the exploits of the female characters, correct? it's actually a well made fighting game. "
And you reminded me of this brilliant review:
" @MysteriousBob: um.. sorry... "No, its not you- I was being a prick. I'm sorry, I'm just a Tekken fanboy who got pissed off by the developer's comments. Just ignore me, I know DOA2 is a good game.
Although I stick with the consolevania review of Driver 3.
Most of what I play falls into the category of obscure stuff no one plays. So, what's my favorite of all the unknown titles?
Perhaps Karoshi 2.0. It's a game where you play as a business man attempting to commit suicide...or maybe rRootage, which is a vector-graphics bullet hell shooter.
Jets'N'Guns. One of the most fun games I've played. Hard for the first few levels though. The soundtrack rocks so hard, it's like someone asked "what would you listen to while blowing up stuff in a space ship?".
Majesty 2. A great game, I only know one person who plays it (and I told him about it, we both got it off a Steam Sale two days ago). An RTS where you don't directly control units. It gets full of chaos really fast. Great game.
Dwarf Fortress.
It's awesome ASCII goodness.
The Stalker series isn't exactly mainstream, particularly the latest entry.
Been playing around with Bushido Blade in a PS1 emulator recently. Now that game needs a current gen remake.
