Madness..?
Who is the Greatest Military Figure of all time?
Napoleon. He was able to control almost all of europe in such a short amount of time. Him or Alexander. As Canberra said, Rommel is a major one missing
Douglas MacArthur, one of the greatest military minds in American History. He had the largest ratio of land gained over soldiers lost since Darius I, I believe. But he's not on there so, I'll go with Richard, because I enjoyed learning about him in class.
" Looks like you went through your 10th grade history textbook and took out all the names under the pictures. "post of the day xD.
"Rommel was not even the Germans best General. He was a mastermind in the desert, but Montgomery was better than him. Patton was World War II's greatest general. How the HELL is Leonidas better then Bonaparte or Alexander for that matter I’d rather have voted for Custer.
"
CUSTER!
Also you missed Erwin Rommel

Not to mention Gengis Khans empire was twice the size of Alexander the Great. It stretched from the pacific Ocean all the way to Ukraine, basically the size of the Soviet Union.
My vote goes to Napoleon. His military skill was so great, it's still being taught today. Can anybody else claim that? *waits to be proven wrong*

Sun Tzu's tactics can even be applied to things outside of war. No one can claim that.
"You mean...How the HELL is Leonidas better then Bonaparte or Alexander for that matter I’d rather have voted for Custer.

Out of the ones on that list, it would be Alexander of Macedon who was not only a brilliant tactician (presumed to have never lost a battle) but a charismatic political leader. Sun Tzu would have been a good candidate as well though his actual historical existence is questionable.
" Duderz... Napoleon. He whipped the puss-bag French into shape and conquered much of Europe. That and he was shorter than my mom. Come on now, no contention. "Actually that's a myth. Napoleon was in fact 5' 8" which was taller than average for the time. And Genghis Khan is the best since he took a tribe of nomads and conquered the most advanced civilization in the world and then went on and conquered the rest of Asia and half of Europe.

" @giyanks22: Do you seriously think Robert E. Lee should be in the same category as Leonidas, Alexander the Great, and Napoleon Bonaparte? "I seriously think that too many people saw 300 and are voting for Leonidas. How the hell does he have 15% of the vote?
I see crowning one person as "greatest military figure" as dumb and impractical when all of these men waged war in different time periods, against different enemies, with different armies. All of these men excelled at what they did and I leave it at that.
Napoleon at the top, you have got to be fucking kidding lol, Giant Bomb's kids need to brush up on their history.
" @Wolverine said:My bad, I meant to say Caesar, not Leonidas. Caesar, Alexander the Great, and Napoleon Bonaparte conquered a great deal of the world while Robert E. Lee was a American general who fought in the Mexican American war and then fought against his own country during the civil war and lost." @giyanks22: Do you seriously think Robert E.
