They have had some big successes with navigating licensing overlap. As they mentioned in the press conference, after they acquired the Atari catalogue, it still took 1-2 years to lock down the Black Isle games (which are arguably GoG's crown jewels).
 
 I wonder if they'll ever get Lucasarts. The fact that they even made an A-grade Monkey Island remaster makes me doubt that they'll ever license those games away.

This is really interesting. There are a number of these games that I played the demos of on PC Gamer CD roms, but as a kid never had the money to buy.  Perhaps now is the time to go and play Crusader: No Remorse, Alpha Centauri... 

I'm hoping for American McGee's Alice since the only way to get this game on the PC is to buy the new Alice from the EA STORE! ROFL!

So pardon my ignorance of GoG as I have never purchased a game from them, but does it handle any emulation stuff for you? It's as easy as clicking the game and it runs, no fuss about emulation and soundcard settings and all that DOSBox stuff? 
 
It might even be worth grabbing some of the games I own, simply because there will be no fuss...

Pretty great announcement, although the presentation itself was woeful.  Whoever put that together should be fired, it was filled with technical problems and poor speakers.  I guess this is why they were looking for a PR man. 
A little disappointed we're not getting Lucas, but I really never expected them to.

About time to pick up Alpha Centauri I guess.
