It this really Greg Kasavin on Giant Bomb (see below link)? Snide is following this guy so I was thinking this might really be the amazing Greg Kasavin but I am not 100% sure.
If this truly is Greg then why doesn't the GB staff elevate him to a higher status then just the typical day-to-day user. He deserves more! I hope to see him as a staff member of Giant Bomb in the near future!

Greg Kasavin
Former game journalist Greg Kasavin is currently the Creative Director of Supergiant Games, developer of Bastion. He has previously worked at 2K, EA LA, and was Editor-in-Chief of GameSpot.
Greg Kasavin
You'd think Greg Kasavin would have more points on his own page, wouldn't you?
(To answer your question: he probably already has a job.)
" I miss his reviews so much. I know he's doing something better now but he was by far the guy I enjoyed reading the most. "That's no joke. He was an excellent reviewer when covering specific genres. I sometimes wish I could get his take on some of the recent RTS games.
It's attached to his real twitter account, so yes. Quite a few former gamespot guys have accounts, since they're all friends with Jeff & co. None are active on the site. Aaron Thomas is probably the most active guy. He actually comes on and posts in threads related to himself (e.g. this thread, and this thread)
I could not click the Follow button fast enough, after reading that." I can confirm that it's actually him. Moving to the Greg Kasavin forum. "

He's the Bill Russell of video game reviewing. To follow this analogy through, this means that Jeff is Kobe Bryant (won a lot with a behemoth behind him, relationship ended badly, now winning on his own), Ryan is Pau Gasol (always good, finally getting credit for it by playing with Jeff/Kobe), Brad is Andrew Bynum (occasionally produces monster performances), Vinny is Lamar Odom (doesn't get to score as much as the others, but contributes everywhere), Drew is Luke Walton (versatile, learning from Vinny/Odom) and Dave is Derek Fisher (we don't get to see enough of him, but we're always happy when he shows up).
Yes, I did spend 10 minutes thinking about this.
Yup, here's his twitter account that is synced with his giantbomb.com one.
Yeah, it's me all right. Thanks for the kind words here -- it's flattering that people still remember my GameSpot work since it's been several years since I stopped doing it. I've limited my edits to my public page on Giant Bomb to fixing factual inaccuracies about my last job at EA, but in general it's not my business to try to change what people have to say about me. I can't help check the page from time to time to see how I'm doing, though, plus I visit the site often as a regular user trying to stay on top of what's worth playing.
I've been over at 2K Games since the beginning of September where I'm working as a producer. It's interesting work and since I'm a fan of 2K's approach to shooters (BioShock and The Darkness in particular), it's rewarding to get to pitch in at a place like that. It also meant I could settle back to northern California, which I consider home. Sometimes I miss writing about games and the people I used to work with but I still think I can do more on the development front in the long run. Though I guess it'll be a while yet before I can prove that.
Looks like it is him. He also was working at EALA for quite some time, but is currently now at 2K Games. Don't think he would be joining anytime soon. I'm sure he is busy creating doing some awesome stuff to be put into awesome games.
Good luck Greg and most importantly, have fun.
" @GregK: Dude, you're a star here. "God damn right, I still remember watching my favorite review which is him reviewing Guild Wars, his reviews should be saved in a museum made just for him.
He was one of favorite reviewers back at Gamespot. It's good to hear he's still doing good out there in the development field.

I think I personally insulted him once while we were discussing Mercs 2 (and his review of it). He took it all in stride though, as a game reviewer, he can't let it affect him.
If anything, I was a bigger fan of Greg than Jeff when I first started browsing Gamespot in around 2004. Always a fan of his reviews, as well as his sense of humor. But enough foaming-at-the-mouth praise, I'm sure whatever game he is making for 2K will be crazy and badass. But if it's an RTS I probably won't buy it...
"Ah, why can't he still review games, he was good. Also, I can still remember when he did that very long live stream of Oblivion, beating dudes down with a hammer in the arena. "
Oh boy, Giant Bomb would wellcome him with open arms!
But, as he stated in his post, he thinks he can be more beneficial to the video game industry by developing games instead of 'just' reviewing them.
