Big fan of Whataburger, personally.  Their burgers make my mouth water.  Sonic is a close 2nd.  I also like Steak n' Shake burgers, they have a drive-thru that is pretty damn fast, so I count them as fast food.

dude.....Mcdonalds ftw, those double quarter pounders are like slices of fresh flesh, you know that you shouldnt eat it, but its so good!!!!!!!!!!

Thirding Whataburger. Their fries are wicked good too.

Wendys/In and Out

Of what I've tried, I'd say it's between A&W and Wendy's.

Johnny Rockets, specifically the one on Thayer Street in Providence, RI

Culver's my only compliant with their burgers are the patties are bit thin but other than that, they actually look like burgers when you get them. (unlike McDonalds.)

Well Blakes Lot-A-Burger's in New Mexico are flipping amazing. If you every drive through NM stop at a Blakes and have a Lot-A-Burger combo w cheese and green chili. It will blow your mind w flavor. Oh and there fries are to die for.

Other then that i gotta go w Carl's Jr. Love me some guacamole burger. MmmmHHmmmm

Harveys. Their burgers seem more natural than other fastfood chains.

I'm Utah and there's a place called Apollo Burgers here, it has great hamburgers and the fries are tasty

In N' Out for sure has the best burgers and fries for that matter, If you don't live in California, you are missing out.

Dick's Burgers. But its only in Seattle so maybe that doesn't count?

As for a chain, Jack in the Box I guess.

Anything but Mcdonalds basically. I can't stand their food, and I'll eat just about any hamburger.

If I had to choose the best though it'd probably be Jack in the Box.

In N Out.

That Jack in the Box place looks frigging awesome. I wish we had one where I live. For hamburgers I'll probably have to go with Hunry Jack's (AKA BK) for chicken I'd normally say KFC but until HJs stop serving the spicy cheesy bacon tendercrisp, they are flooring KFC at their own game.

Macca's is average for everything.

Nothing beat Mama's Welfare Burger with green peppers in Wonderbread. It's better than McDonalds 'cos Mama says it is.

I like A&W because the burgers and buns are actually thick.  Mcdonalds burgers appear as if someone sat on them.

I shed a few tears the day the Hardee's (Carl's Jr to the developed world) in my town closed.

Max in sweden has the best fast food burgers, of those that I have eaten, second best place is Burger King.

Burger King because everything they make smells like doughnuts.

We don't have Jack 'N the Box or In N' Out places here, so I can't give a valid opinion.

Jack in the Box has some pretty good burgers. BK does too, but there really aren't any near where I live.

Hardee's

From what i've experienced i'd say fatburger. However I don't consider them true fastfood. Burgerking it is.
