So it's just coming up to 11:25pm here in England, which is where i realise that ive been playing the game pretty much solidly since about lunch time, i got the game on friday and have played around 32 hours of it already. I've not done this with any other game, is this happening to anyone else?
Mass Effect 2
Game » consists of 21 releases. Released Jan 26, 2010
After a violent death by an unknown force and a timely reanimation by the human supremacist organization Cerberus, Commander Shepard must assemble a new squad in the seedier side of the galaxy for a suicide mission in the second installment of the "Mass Effect" trilogy.
Anyone else having insanely long playing sessions of this?
I played it for 5 hours in one sitting as soon as I got it and that's something I barely ever do these days let alone do it and not realise.
Luckily my video card gets really hot if I play for more than like 4 hours, depending on whats going on. At that point I will be getting like 1 fps, which is enough to save and quit and go make food or something.
Beat the game in 24 hours in a matter of 4 days, kind of feel sick of myself.
Worth it though, awesome gaming experience - kind of makes me want to do a renegade speed run.
I never play games, or do anything really, for long periods of time in one sitting; I either get bored or frustrated or tired and feel the need to stop. My record for longest session is a pedestrian eight straight hours playing the original Fable. That said, Mass Effect 2 is definitely one of the games that is pulling me in. Today I played for five hours straight, which beat the recent mark set by Dragon Age: Origins at four hours. I also think I may have spent three straight hours playing Torchlight, but don't quote me on that. So by my standards, Mass Effect 2 is doing extremely well at pulling me in and keeping me engaged. There's just so much to like about that game.
I scanned every planet, did every side mission, I just finished it a few hours ago, so I must of took alot of hours. Really I was playing the game all day, bioware rules.
Yes because the pacing is really slow, but for some reason I don't find it boring. I spent a lot of time (probably 30-45 minutes) at the Normandy Crash Site looking for the one dog tag that is missing before giving up, and I've spent well over an hour running around Omega getting to places because the place is so huge.
" same here. 6-10 hour sessions daily so far. cant stop playing "Same, I beat it and I can't stop playing.
First day = 13 hours, second day = 9 hours, third day = 10 hours and fourth day = 3 hours. Now for new game+
yess beat it in two days prolly like 20 hours i feel it is about the same as it took me the first one, but playing thru the the first one the second time took me much less like a day just going thru it to get my decisions in the second one
I work untill 11pm most nights so i only get to play it after work and on sunday. Staying up untul 5am going to work, doing the same. damn good. I've been rushing my games the past few months, i dunno, it was like i was just playing to try and complete it as fast as possible. But because the pacing is slow and i love the fiction i'm managing to do all the missions/side quests and exploration without getting stressed or skipping huge sections of dialogue becuase there's so much of it. It's all good!
God I don't even want to think how much time I put into that game yesterday. And I can't even remember what the last game that I spent a whole day on.
I know for a fact I spent over 7 hours on the first day probably more the preceding days. 28 hours later still hungry for more, got to get that renegade play through now.
Completed it sunday evening.. Got it on thursday.. Clocked in at about 50 hours.. And i'm soon heading in for a second playthrough.. Goddamn that game is awesome...
