I just saw on Kotaku's twitter that Mad Katz is making a lot of merchandise for MW2.

The name of this interests me 'throat mic' ...what is that? And yeah, way out of control.

What the hell is a throat mic? 
 
Meh. It better be the most bad ass controller ever because there's no chance I'll ever buy it if it isn't. And even then the chances are slim.

Throat mics are those sensors that go on your throat and pick up vibrations. That way you can communicate in very near silence. I doubt that is how good these will be. It will probably be literally a microphone you put on your throat.

I don't know why but third party controllers always made me feel dirty...however the mouse and keyboard looked pretty cool

Everything I've ever used by Mad Katz has been extremely low quality and easily breakable. I don't see why people would want to buy any of this stuff.

I pity anybody who buys MadCatz stuff.  The ones that I've used are all unresponsive and break within weeks.   This guy just seems to be making up problems to solve with these controllers, is anyone ever really annoyed because their microphone is in front of their mouth while playing?
 
The MW2 controllers look like shit though especially the PS3 one, the camo pattern with bright green sticks really made me laugh.

I am definitely getting that throat mic and a black 360 controller. I like the improved looking D-pad and the placement of those combat buttons.

Well at least this stuff makes more sense than a freakin pair of NVGs. I'd much rather get a faceplate, controller and throat mic in the prestige edition than them.

For those of you not in the know. I met three women when I was taking the bus home from work, and one of them said she worked at Mad Kats. To cut this little story short she told me that Mad Kats was making alot of peripherals (like the throat mic) for Modern Warfare 2. 
 
Now back to the persent. After I had heard nothing during E3 I was beginng to think she was just joking around. Yet now I' ve learned that she was telling me the truth?!  
 Hmm, now I wonder if her offer is also true and if so does it still stand.

The controller sounds cool. I'd use it for jumping and knifing in Battlefield.
 
edit: $50 for a fucking MadCatz wired controller? Two buttons aren't worth $15 extra bucks, especially for non-first party brand.

This shit is getting out of control. Someone needs to put a stop to this madness.

Wait... why did they make the PC controller like the PS3 controller... it's absolute crap compared to the 360 controller (and yes I'm a long time PS player, I know the controllers)... infact why would they bother at all with it, no one wants to use a controller, and if someone does, then just plug in the heavily supported Xbox 360 version...
 
But seriously, so much crap there, a real gamer keyboard? Who are they kidding, that's just a standard keyboard, you want a gamer keyboard then get 1 from Logitech or something, they have lots of extra buttons, I'm getting the G11 which has 3x18 programmable buttons etc etc, that's a gamer keyboard, who would be stupid enough to buy their crap, same for their mouse and most of the stuff, I mean a expensive bluetooth headset when you can just use a regular one that's way cheaper, and probably better aswell.
The console controllers don't look all that, but that only depends if they feel right. And as for their sales pitch, seriously "It feels like you're holding a weapon rather then a controller", who the hell thinks they are holding a weapon because they put some crap on the controller?
You know, I truly don't mind it if they make stuff and earn some extra due to it being licensed, but when you offer a gamer keyboard then offer exactly that, if you offer a controller with extra buttons then offer exactly that, not the idea that you are holding a gun... be real, be fair and up the price somewhat for the license, but don't screw people with expensive shit.
 
That said though, the faceplate and all does look pretty decent.

I think a throat mic is what some Infantry units use right now in the Army, it allows for softer voices to transmit through the microphone. On the battlefield it is a much more tactical way of communicating, in a room playing video games it's just a gimmick.
