Anyone else think it was much more "difficult" to prestige in Modern Warfare 2 over CoD4 or WaW? I had a really hard time keeping up with the higher levels after prestiging, and my K/D took quite a hit until I got to around level 30 and unlocked Ninja and some decent guns.

Prestige Discussion
I never played enough of Call of Duty 4 and I never got around to Call of Duty: World at War. I am currently Level 50. I don't plan on prestiging until after my brother leaves after the holidays so we can play with all the unlocked weapons/perks/etc.
Hmmm, I don't really plan on prestiging; it seems like much more of a grind from 45 to 70, and I really don't feel like going through it all again just for a prettier logo, some titles/emblems, and an extra class slot (although that part sounds somewhat useful.) I'm level 62 right now.

I'm level 63 right now and i'm gonna prestige right away. I'm the kinda guy who needs to keep leveling up or i will lose interest in the multiplayer.
I can't really say so myself, the levels do seem a bit more steep but if you're good enough racking up kills and points then it should take roughly the same amount of time to get to prestige. Its been a while since I prestiged in COD4.
And for whether or not you want to prestige is up to you. I know there will be people who will complain about prestiging.

I mean, the game is enjoyable enough to play with simply winning in mind, but the real bread-and-butter comes from the level system. That's where I'm hooked.
I never did prestige in 4, an emblem alone wasn't going to do it.
This time though you get an extra custom slot I hear? confirm/deny? Is that every prestige?
To me that might be worth it, I could maybe prestige the one time, my k/d ratio has been going up with my ranking, I think you are at more of a disadvantage being at a lower rank in MW2 than in MW1 for sure.
What does prestige do for you this time around then? I know you get a new emblem and title for it along with the rank tile but is there any actual benefit to the play? Like in WaW you got a new create a class slot for every other prestige. If you get one more slot then I might do it once, just to have a riot shield class.

I'm level 32 Prestige 1 right now and I only prestiged once in World at War and CoD4 (level 55 prestige 1 in CoD4 & level 58 prestige 1 in WaW) but there are definitely way more incentives to Prestige in MW2. Here are the things you get for Prestige in MW2:
- Prestige rank symbol (obviously)
- New Title (which I like alot)
- New emblem (basically the Prestige rank symbol)
- New custom class slot (very useful)
- New "Master" & "Veteran" challenges for every weapon that unlock XP and new titles.
- New "Prestige" challenges.
- You alos don't lose any of your Titles or Emblems when you Prestige.
I'm finding it much easier to get to prestige with MW2!
WaW took me ages to prestige the first time and COD4 was moderately the same. I played CoD4 the most and i think it was because their was not as many little challenges to complete to prestige. They really give you points to prestige in Mw2!
only thing i can say is that i freaking hate all fucking homos that have the prestige 10 skull online already.. hope they get their game removed from steam permanently.
Oh wow, new challenges too hu? That sounds pretty cool. I wonder if there are as many rewards for going prestige several times. 15 custom class slots is a lot. Guess I will be going prestige then. Think I'll play around with the AK47 for a while first though. I loved that gun in CoD4, want to try to get the title for it before I lose it for another week or two.
I'm going to prestige. I got to 10th prestige level 55 in CoD4, and I got to 3rd or 4th prestige in WaW
" @Bludgeon said:yup. thats me!" only thing i can say is that i freaking hate all fucking homos that have the prestige 10 skull online already.. hope they get their game removed from steam permanently. "So very bitter. "
I went through the full prestige in Call of Duty 4, but I don't know if I am going to do it in Modern Warfare 2. It did keep me busy for over a year as I kept coming back to Call of Duty 4, but there is just so much in Modern Warfare 2 that I might only prestige one or two times. However I'll have to see how that goes once I actually hit rank 70.
