The Neo Geo was a console released by SNK in 1990, featuring a 16/32-bit 68000 CPU with an additional 8-bit Z80 CPU and custom 24-bit GPU chipset. An arcade-based console considerably powerful for a home system at the time, the Neo Geo was notoriously expensive (costing $650 at launch) and aggressively marketed as an Advanced Entertainment System (AES).
Wait, why does this thing have shoulder buttons? All of the included games don't use any more than the standard NG 4-button setup. Could SNK be anticipating people building PS1 and SNES emulators for it?
@BiG_Weasel: I've got the (better imo) GP2X. But both are worth the investment.
If this ever actualy gets a full retail release then you may want to take a look at Pandora. Ashens has one of the limited amount that has been sold so far link.
I really wanted a portable retro system last year and after looking GP2X and Pandora's and such I realised the cheapest option was to get a PSP Go (since they're basically giving them away on eBay) and hack it. I've not got any PSP games on it at all it's just a lovely little hand held retro machine now. Great screen, great buttons. Thanks Sony.
Yes this is Awsome news, was thinking about buying a neo geo machin, but cant find one i dk... Just hope the price is kept low and i will pray for a release soon
