I'm thinking about getting a Wii but all they seem to have are Mario games
Nintendo

Nintendo was founded in Kyoto, Japan in 1889 as a manufacturer of hanafuda playing cards. The company went through several small niche businesses before becoming a video game company.
Why is it every Nintendo game has Mario in it?
Since when has every Nintendo game has had Mario?
This gen has had very few games with Mario in it compared to past gens.
Anyway, even if there were as many as you said, it would be like complaining you only had good games to play.

" also doesn't help that most of Nintendo's best titles are 1st party. "
Of course every game Nintendo makes are 1st party. They can't make a third party game, only third parties can.
" Mario is nintendo's mascot. Much like Sonic the hedgehog was for Sega. also doesn't help that most of Nintendo's best titles are 1st party. "...as opposed to all those third party titles Nintendo are making for themselves?
I'm pretty sure a few users on this site could make a list of every good non-mario game on the wii
so I'm leaving it to them
Here are some games without Mario:
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Mad World
Rabbids Go Home
No More Heroes
No More Heroes Desperate Struggle
The Conduit
Boom Blox
Boom Blox Bash Party
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Red Steel
Red Steel 2
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
Muramasa: The Demon Blade
A Boy and His Blob
Klonoa
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom
Excitebots: Trick Racing
Wario Land: Shake It!
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition
Just to name a few...
" Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Music, Wii Sports Resort, Zelda Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, etc. "Using Wii Music in an argument to defend Nintendo...
Bet no one saw THAT coming, eh?
- Lost Winds
- House of the Dead I & II
- Okami
- Little King's Story
- Zack & Wiki
- The Bit Trip games
- Dead Space Extraction

" @LordAndrew said:I think what jadeskye meant was in his opinion most great games for Nintendo's consoles are made by Nintendo, and Nintendo's console's 3rd party titles aren't usually as good. It was worded a little weird, but I'm pretty sure that's what he meant, not that Nintendo makes 3rd party games and they're bad." @Willy105 said:But they stop being third party, they become second party. There's Metroid and Zelda!!!
That's like...THREE whole characters, what more could you want?
/sarcasm.
" @Willy105: Depends on how you define "second party". What is it even supposed to mean? How could a third-party title like Trauma Center become a "second-party" title upon its European publication? "In terms of game publishing, second party refers when a console company (like Nintendo) publishes a game that was not made by a studio they own (like a third party developer like Square Enix).
" I'm thinking about getting a Wii but all they seem to have are Mario games "Literally the most incredible sentence I've ever read. Well played!
Although this topic is dumb it does make me think of characters Nintendo is not using effectively. Say Donkey Kong, when have we seen a Donkey Kong game that wasn't Donkey Konga?
But yeah Mario is definitely not in every Nintendo Wii game.
" Although this topic is dumb it does make me think of characters Nintendo is not using effectively. Say Donkey Kong, when have we seen a Donkey Kong game that wasn't Donkey Konga? "Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, DK: King of Swing, DK: Jungle Climber, Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast, and three Mario vs. Donkey Kong instalments.
