Detect Life/Detect Dead

Aura Whisper makes both of those essentially useless. Not only does it detect EVERYTHING but it's a single cast that lasts for a reasonable amount of time, allows you to move properly through dungeons, and reserves mana for more important engagements. If Detect Life/Detect Dead were like they were in Oblivion I wouldn't have a problem with them, but as of right now they both kinda suck the big one.

There appears to be a bug in it as well. I was going to side with the Empire, but I wanted to do the main quest first. So earlier on, like 15 hours in, I set about the wheels to side with the Empire but never bothered to do the first mission yet. Anyway when I have to negotiate peace I go and talk to Ulfric and he says he won't do it unless Tulius agrees to be there, but I speech check him to get him to go regardless. Then I go to Solitude and try to get Tulius to go but he keeps yelling at me to go do the fucking mission that I've had in my quest log for 70 hours. So now it's stuck. Ulfric is at High Hrothgir, Tulius is bitching at me, and I had to reload to a 5 hour old save.

Fuck this game sometimes.

She should always be there with you, and if she does disappear she should return back to the pool she rose out of.

More importantly though she should be an Essential NPC again, even if they have to tone down the damage she does in combat. I mean it's not a far stretch that the thing is immortal, it's been around for over 200 years and rose up from a fucking black pit. Mostly though I'm sick and tired of watching the bitch charge head in to an Ancient Dragon and get annihilated in one shot, or when I travel to an area with 2+ hostiles watching her die from 2 fucking arrows meaning that I now have to fast travel to a location close to where I want to go. Normally that would be a town. So now my travel time is increased and my real life time is wasted. All because of a fucking horse.

Sneak is by far the best skill in the game and the Assassin's Blade perk is one of the best perks in the game. Combined with either Jester's/Cicero's Gloves to get 30x damage with a dagger and The Blade of Woe you will absolutely maul anything there is in the game. Right now I'm doing over 750 damage per stealth hit. Dragon Priests can't even stand up to it. The only thing I think that can is a Dragon itself. And if you can get your Illusion stat high enough you can cast Invisibility to further break the game.

Speaking of Invisibility in order to grind out the Illusion stat just get the Muffle spell and continuously cast it everywhere. You can gain levels at an enormous rate since you don't need to be in combat to level Illusion apparently.

And finally regarding Sneak to grind it I used the Fort Greymore strategy. Reason I did it is because while waiting for the eye to close I could level some other magic skills as well, like Illusion, Conjuration, and Alteration since the game goes into combat mode when enemies are searching for you. Went from 30 to 70 Sneak in about 40 minutes and after that just played normally since 70 seems like it's high enough anyway. To see how to do it check out this guys YouTube video on it. I don't take credit for it nor do I know the guy, but it works and works well. As an added advantage is it's right near Whiterun so you can do it reasonably early on. If this might seem too invested there's another way to grind Sneak during the Dark Brotherhood as well and there's a video on YouTube as well showing how to do it. All you'll need is a rubberband or something heavy to hold down W.

I have 100 sneak. No fucking chance in hell do I want a companion derping it up into a horde of Falmer and fucking up my strategy. But I am rather sad that Shadowmere isn't an essential NPC like Oblivion. I've had to reload saves just because that stupid fucking thing thinks it's a good idea to take on an Elder Dragon head on while I'm dancing around using Mark of Death over and over again.

I took this week off from work for a little R&R and to play Skyrim. It is both the best and worst decision I've made this year. Best being that it's fucking incredible, worst being that it's sucking the life from my withered husk. About 50 hours in and I'm nowhere near finished. I'm only halfway through the main story ripping the shit out of dragons now (level 44).

It's nice to see Bethesda getting their dues, but it's also a shame to see MW3 still dominating with the same old shit for the fifth year in a row.

Well that's fine and dandy, but how about they fix the fucked up physics modeling system and weird glitches including, but not limited to, floating Mammoths. I'm sick and tired of doing a sneak attack on someone and watching them launch clear across the room and get trapped in the geometry of a fucking wall.

And for the record this is on PC. It's absolutely awful at times. I can forgive it because it is hands down the best game of the year as far as I'm concerned, but the bugs are already turning it into a Fallout New Vegas experience. Well maybe that was harsh, but it's still pretty fucking bad at times. It ruins the Role Playing in the Role Playing Game when you see fucked up shit like that.

Visually it looks nice, but I can't help but feel it'll take itself a bit to seriously for it's own good. Kind of like how GTA IV had a massive stick up it's ass at times. I mean it'll have the same physics engine and everything, so I'm not really expecting a massive deviation. What it boils down to is if they actually add in things to do in the game. GTA IV really didn't have a damn thing to do after you beat it other than going with fat queer Roman to see big American titties. I finished with a million bucks that I couldn't spend on ANYTHING.

But whatever. It's Rockstar. They could wrap up shit in tin foil and I'd still buy it.
