Just so that you're aware, whilst The Hobbit acts as a semi-prequel to The Lord of the Rings trilogy, it isn't actually part of that trilogy.
And I think that each of the films have their own pros and cons but my favourite would probably have to be either The Two Towers or Return of the King.
