honestly red faction is more in line with the JC2 style, and it's a funner game, so get that.

at least eastern RPG's make an effort to invent different types of gameplay and different settings that are imaginative and inventive.  In contrast to western RPG's:
 
Dragon age: (generic fantasy setting)
Mass effect: (they have good aliens and good ideas, but the fact of the matter is that it shamelessly lifts from both star trek and star wars) 
 
I personally love Bioware's RPG's (more than final fantasy) but...

get just cause 2; it's on the consoles but the modding scene for that game is fantastic.
